Program Details
Hello, my name is Felix, and I am hosting this profile on behalf of our small international community.
Hanshi Ojii officially lives in France at his private home, yet the heartbeat of our community is in Spain, where most of us spend our days immersed in nature, animals, and shared projects. He often joins the community there, moving between the two homes, bringing his energy, wisdom, and guidance.
We are a small, intentional group living closely with nature, surrounded by animals, shared meals, and meaningful projects. Books are written, methods explored, and human beings practice discipline, reflection, and presence.
Hanshi Ojii is blind yet remarkably independent. He is a writer, researcher, and teacher of martial arts, yoga, meditation, philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, and holistic living. Life alongside him is an invitation to focus, contribute, and grow within a rhythm of awareness, care, and curiosity.
We are looking for a mature woman to become a long-term guide and companion to Hanshi Ojii, supporting his daily life while growing alongside him. For the right person, this role can gradually evolve into a co-leading position within the community, sharing responsibility and structure over time.
This is not a retreat or a business. It is a home and sanctuary built on respect, cooperation, and shared purpose.
Living here offers a rare opportunity to experience and practice disciplines such as yoga, meditation, Tai Chi, Qigong, martial arts, philosophy, psychology, neuroscience, and spirituality. Learning happens naturally through observation, participation, conversations, and shared daily life.
Travel between France and Spain happens regularly, and flexibility is required.
Activities & Shift
The central role is to act as guide and companion to Hanshi Ojii, supporting him in daily life while maintaining a calm and harmonious environment.
Activities may include:
• Guiding and assisting with mobility and organisation
• Supporting writing, research, and reading tasks
• Helping with practical aspects of daily life
• Accompanying occasional travel across Europe
• Contributing to maintaining a peaceful household environment
Hours are generally 20–30 per week.
This role is based on trust, presence, and cooperation, and it is designed as a long-term immersive experience, not a short visit.
Daily life often includes shared dinners, conversations, reading, physical practice, reflection, and interaction with animals and nature.
In free time, volunteers can enjoy:
• practicing yoga, meditation, or martial arts
• walking in nature
• reading and study
• quiet reflection and personal projects
Rules
To fulfill this role well, we are looking for a woman who is reliable, adaptable, cooperative, and naturally harmonious, with good English communication skills. Additional languages are welcome. A driving licence is highly appreciated but not mandatory.
Our lifestyle is mindful, calm, and intentional, and we ask volunteers to respect the atmosphere of the home.
Our shared principles include:
• Alcohol-free
• Smoke-free
• Drug-free
• Vegetarian or vegan lifestyle
• Cooperative and respectful communication
English is required for communication. Hanshi Ojii can also share knowledge and conversation in French, Italian, Spanish, Esperanto, Japanese, and basic German, offering volunteers the opportunity to experience different languages and cultural nuances.
The guide is provided with a private, clean, and secure room within the home, both in France and in Spain. The houses are shared with several dogs and cats, who are friendly members of the household. Cleanliness and comfort are carefully maintained.
