I had an amazing time at Pangumbahan conservation!! Everyone is so welcoming and I made many new friends. I really felt like part of the team, and I loved experiencing local life in Ujung Genteng. I saw many turtles during my time here; mother turtles laying eggs and also many baby the community releases! Lydia takes very good care of the volunteers, she is really kind. I can definitely recommend this volunteer experience if you want to contribute to sea the community conservation!

I had the absolute best time at the community! The team welcome you with the biggest smiles from the minute you arrive. Lydia, the coordinator at the community is very caring, helpful and positive. She made the experience unforgettable! When you volunteer here you become part of the family, immersed in local life and Indonesian culture. You learn a lot about turtles and the huge efforts and care the team take with conservation of turtles. It was beautiful to witness mother the community lay eggs, baby turtles hatching and the release of baby turtles into the community. I was very lucky!

I had an amazing experience at Pantai Konservasi Penyu Pangumbahan. The task I did was pretty much the same as the description. I could witness the baby turtles hatching, the mother the community laying eggs, and baby the community release. I was also able to meet locals and talk to them, and learn a lot about their culture and the language. However, some of the facilities were a little basic, such as the bathroom. I highly recommend this host if you love sea turtles and the sea!

I had an incredible experience volunteering here. From the beginning, I was welcomed with so much kindness and affection, and I truly felt like part of the family. the community conservation work was beautiful, and releasing baby turtles into the community was unforgettable. At times, there were very few volunteers, which could feel a little lonely and boring. I also sometimes had to ask to take part in certain activities. Still, the warmth of the team and the amazing moments I experienced made this a truly memorable adventure.

My time at the community conservation was beyond wonderful. I was given the opportunity to have more once-in-a-lifetime experiences than I could count. Not only was the work at the conservation meaningful, fulfilling and fun but the host went out of their way to expose me to man other wonderful experiences. By the end o this journey I truly feel that I have a family in Ujung Genteng and I love and appreciate all the caring and hardworking people who took the time to make this experience so special and meaningful. 🫶

For the past few days, I volunteered in Pangumbahan the community sanctuary, and let me tell you what a magical experience. From learning all about Western Java Sundanese Culture, to seeing an helping turtles lay their eggs, and releasing their hatchlings. These days have proven to be some of the most special in my whole life, as we were able to take part in the people's of Suakabumi daily life, learn all about their culture, their traditions, their food and themselves. I highly recommend it to everyone specially to people who deeply care about nature and our ecosystems!

His cheerful personality made it so easy for him to connect with the local community and everyone on the team. He never seemed to get tired of exploring, learning, and helping. I had a lovely week at the Pangumbahan the community centre! The hosts and staff are amazing, super sweet and helpful. It was a very special experience to see turtles laying eggs and releasing baby turtles to the sea. Sometimes I wish I could have done more as there are not that many tasks to do. But they arrange nice activities as well, so you definitely won't get bored!
