Program Details
We’ve just finished the build, the beds are ready, and now we need the "soul." We are looking for energetic, creative, and reliable volunteers to join our founding team and help us turn this house into a home for travelers from all over the world.
What We Expect From You
We need a "Swiss Army Knife" of a volunteer—someone who is happy to jump in where needed.
1. Overall Hostel Operations
The Warm Welcome: Checking guests in/out and being the "go-to" person for local tips and hidden gems.
Atmosphere Architecture: Helping organize social events (family dinners, pub crawls, or movie nights).
The Essentials: Assisting with light housekeeping and ensuring common areas stay tidy and inviting.
Problem Solving: Staying calm and helpful if a guest loses a key or needs an extra blanket at 10:00 PM.
What You Can Expect From Us
We value your time and energy. In exchange for your help, we provide:
A Bed & Home: A comfortable stay in our brand-new facilities.
Local Immersion: We’ll show you the best spots that tourists never find.
Real Responsibility: Your ideas matter here. Want to start a specific theme night? Let’s do it.
Professional Growth: Great for your CV/Portfolio, especially if you’re looking to get into hospitality or digital marketing.
The Community: You’ll be at the heart of our new family, meeting incredible people every single day.
Activities & Shift
The Volunteer Daily Flow
Target: 5 hours of "active" help per day.
08:30 – 10:30 | The Morning Spark (Operations & Social)
The Vibe Check: Walk through common areas, straighten cushions, and ensure the coffee/tea station is stocked and clean.
Guest Interaction: Chat with guests during breakfast. This is the best time to ask, "What are your plans for today?" and offer local tips or tour info.
10:30 – 12:30 | The Transition (Operations)
Check-out Support: Assist the desk with guest departures. Ensure keys are returned and ask for a quick review if they had a great stay.
Room "Final Look": After housekeeping finishes, do a quick walk-through of the dorms to ensure curtains are straight, linens are crisp, and everything meets your new hostel’s high standards.
12:30 – 16:00 | The Explorer Break (Free Time)
The "Volunteer Life": This is their time to explore, nap, or edit photos.
Engagement: Spend 20 minutes replying to comments and DMing potential guests or local influencers.
17:00 – 18:00 | The Social Catalyst (Social)
The "What’s Happening" Moment: Move through the common areas to announce the evening’s plans (e.g., "We’re all heading to the lake at 6:00!" or "Family dinner starts at 7:00!").
Icebreaking: Introduce solo travelers to one another. This is the most valuable part of their job.
Rules
Core House Rules
The "Guest First" Rule: Guests always come first. If a guest needs help while you are on a "social media" break or eating, prioritize the guest immediately.
Cleanliness Standard: Lead by example. If you see a mess in the common area or a curtain out of place, fix it. A volunteer’s presence should make the hostel look better, not more cluttered.
Substance Policy: No working under the influence. Enjoying a drink with guests during social hours is fine (if you're off-duty), but never to the point of unprofessionalism.
Noise Control: Respect the "Quiet Hours" (e.g., after 10:00 PM.) It is your job to gently remind guests to keep it down if they are being too loud in the dorms.
📈 Professional Expectations
The "Founding" Mindset: Since we are newly built, things might change! We expect you to be flexible and suggest improvements if you see a system that isn't working.
Honesty & Communication: If you make a mistake (like a booking error or a broken item), tell us immediately. We can fix anything as long as we know about it.
Social Media Privacy: Always ask guests for verbal consent before featuring their faces in close-up videos or photos for our social media.
Local Knowledge: You are expected to learn the local area quickly. Know the best cheap eats, the bus schedules, and the safest walking routes.
Punctuality: "Hostel time" can be relaxed, but shifts are not. Being 5 minutes early to your shift ensures a smooth hand-off from the previous person.
What We Won’t Ask of You
Solo Night Shifts: We don't expect volunteers to manage security or emergencies alone overnight.
Disrespect: We expect guests to treat you with respect. If a guest is being rude or inappropriate, come to us immediately—we have your back.
