Staying at the farm was such a nice time! I needed a place to recharge and work as well as practicing italian and discovering sicily: without a doubt i found it. Davide is an incredible host, very polite, respectful, flexible and understanding. The job was easy/chill and the hours were always respected. Me and my friend shared a room with a private bathroom that was super cozy. I definitely recommend it! Thank you Davide and Piccola Grace for everything <3

Davide is a SUPER special person, my first volunteering couldn’t be better. He is a totally respectfull and he always want to make sure You feel at home and part of his family. Gioiosa Marea is a local city with Beautiful beach and sorrounded of awesome views, montains, clear sea. Everything here is really beautiful.
Davide is very openminded to have all kind of conversation and proactive to teach you italian, to tell you about the local history and to prepare you REALLY GOOD food. My first experience in Italy was the best for sure!!! Thank you Davide and Grece ❤️

I stayed at the farm in August, which in hindsight was not the best idea because it gets very hot in Sicily, and I always felt exhausted after working 😅 I loved working with Alen (a great employee who shows you everything!) + practicing my italian at dinner. The only thing that was a nuisance: I got a room downstairs - because I was the second volunteer which I completely understand - but that was not very private, as the bedroom door literally had no door handle and the bathroom was a connecting room that was used quite frequently. But if you stay upstairs, no problem! Thank you Davide!

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I would like to clarify that the room provided to you could be locked securely from the inside, and at no point was your privacy violated.
I also made a particular effort to accommodate your dietary preferences by preparing vegetarian meals specifically for you during your stay. I believe this level of personal attention and consideration should also be taken into account.

If there were any concerns regarding your stay, I believe they would have been better

Davide provided lovely food and accommodation, and I enjoyed the work itself. However, his communication was often unclear and the lack of work structure led to some misunderstandings. After completing the hours we had agreed on, he would try to make me feel guilty for not working overtime, and his explanations were often inconsistent. Toward the end, his behaviour became tense and he even tried turning my girlfriend, who I was there with, against me, which made the atmosphere uncomfortable.

During the stay, expectations regarding tasks, working hours, and communication were clearly explained from the beginning. The volunteer showed limited responsibility in carrying out tasks independently and reliably, and did not engage consistently with the community aspect of the project. This is not the level of involvement expected in this type of exchange, where volunteers are expected to take ownership of their role and communicate proactively.

Davide can be a good host and companion. In my experience, I had a peek of the Sicilian way of life, which I was grateful for. As someone who prefers clear and direct communication (especially when it comes to work), and guidance during the project, I wished I had more of the aforementioned.

Expectations regarding communication, tasks, and project structure were clearly explained from the beginning and remained consistent throughout the stay. The agreed hours were not completed, as the volunteer left the project earlier than planned. We therefore do not consider this review to accurately reflect the exchange.

I really enjoyed my time at the farm! Davide is a very open person and made us feel welcomed. I stayed there with a friend and we had our own room with private bathroom! The work hours were respected and you can talk about your free days with him. During my time I shared the volunteer experience with 3 Brazilians which unfortunately made the majority of the conversations in Portuguese so I didn't really had the opportunity to connect with everyone. Beside that it was such a beautiful experience and a wonderful way of seeing and experiencing Sicily! Thank you Davide and Piccola Grace :)

Dear Elisa, I'm sorry you felt excluded. However, you were involved in every decision, and we cooked vegetarian meals just for you. I asked many times to communicate any issues immediately, as dialogue is the only way to solve problems. Had you spoken up then, I would have gladly adjusted things. It’s a pity to learn this only now, as I value my guests' comfort above all. Best regards.

My wife and I had a very good and peaceful experience during our volunteering. Our schedules were respected and we had great communication with Davide and Alen throughout the experience.
Davide is a very respectful, friendly and welcoming person. We spent very pleasant moments, had good conversations and we were able to share experiences.
We are very grateful for the opportunity and for the way we were received. It was a very positive experience and one that we will certainly carry with us.

An incredible experience! My husband and I were very well received, we worked helping at the reception and cleaning of the B&B, the schedules were respected, we practiced Italian a lot.
Davide, the host, in addition to helping us with the language, prepared very good meals, and on our days off we were able to visit many beautiful places in Sicily! (The train is very close and takes you to all the places)
The city is very nice and calm.
Alen, who helps Davide at the B&B, is very nice and will make the work even lighter.
I hope to return soon!
I recommend it to everyone

I had a really wonderful experience at the farm! The working hours were always respected, and the work was simple and also fun. I especially enjoyed meeting the guests, showing them the rooms, and welcoming them. In my free time there was plenty of space to relax, explore the area, or simply stay on the beach. A special thanks to Davide: he is a fantastic host, very kind, and always available. In addition, he cooks incredibly well and has always taken care of us! I absolutely recommend this experience! ❤️

It was my first experience as a volunteer and it has been incredible!! Davide has been very kind, gentle, and polite. Always willing to make me feel comfortable and attentive to everything. His home has been like a second home. I also learned a lot about Sicilian culture. No doubt I would recommend it, and I would love to come back 😊
