Sergio is an excellent host. He welcomes you in the family and is always there to support you. Not to mention, he is an excellent cook. We shared family meals and went on group hikes. He knew the best places to eat in San Cristóbal and you can never go wrong with his recommendations. I spent 3 weeks here and would have loved to stay many more. I highly recommend volunteering at the hostel.

The atmosphere at the hostel is very good for connecting with international travelers and with other volunteers; the tasks are simple, and in a few days I already felt the confidence to develop myself. The place was fine, and the people inside also got along well with us; the problem was Sergio. His comments and attitudes, in the end, before my stay ended, I left because of comments he made about us other girls and me, just for sticking his nose into conversations that he didn't belong to. The agreed-upon schedules were always respected.

Sergio stayed in touch the whole time; the arrival was comfortable because I was allowed to enjoy and rest that first day after the trip.
Laurita is very loving and kind and always made me feel at home, and her cooking is a hug to the heart.
