Wake up steps from the beach and start your day teaching surf lessons to beginners, helping them catch their first waves, prepping gear, and making sure everyone has a safe and fun experience. To join our team, you must have an ISA Certification to ensure you have the skills and knowledge to teach surf safely and effectively. You’ll even have your own surfboard available for free during your stay to practice, explore, or join the students in the water. 🏄
After surfing, spend about an hour helping the team with planning weekly activities and organizing events. You’ll support the team behind the scenes and help everything run smoothly.
Afternoons and weekends are all about fun! Join beach bonfires, BBQs, sports, and weekend surf trips to nearby beaches. Most activities are free or low-cost, letting you fully dive into Montañita’s vibrant beach culture. 🎉
Stay with us and enjoy accommodation at our Cabaña location (either in a private room or shared with one other intern, depending on the genders of interns at the time). You’ll also have access to a pool, jacuzzi, hammocks, and green spaces — perfect for relaxing after a day of surfing. You’ll receive 10 hours of Spanish lessons for a minimum 4-week stay with more hours the longer you stay.
You’re perfect for this role if you:

✅ Speak fluent English (basic Spanish is a plus!)

Your days are a mix of surf, planning, and beach fun!🌊🌴
Surf Lessons (approx. 4 hours/day) – Teach beginners, prep gear, and make sure everyone enjoys the waves safely.
Office Time (approx. 1 hour/day) – Help plan weekly activities, support the team, and organize events.
Student & Social Activities – Most afternoons and weekends, you can join or lead beach games, bonfires, BBQs, movie nights, salsa classes, yoga, beach clean-ups, and shared meals. Weekend surf trips are also part of the fun! Most activities are free or minimal cost for volunteers.
