What to expect from us
We offer a true "apprenticeship-style" experience in a warm, welcoming home. You can expect high-quality mentorship from Arnold, a professional cabinet maker and landscaper; if you are eager to learn, he is happy to teach.

As passionate foodies who love to host, we provide nutritious, home-cooked meals (made from scratch) and a comfortable, private room in our spacious coastal home. We treat our helpers like family, offering use of our bicycles to explore the stunning St. Agnes coastline and providing plenty of local tips for the best surf spots and coastal hikes. We value clear communication, a safe working environment, and a fair exchange of energy.

What we expect from you
We are looking for proactive, reliable individuals (or couples) who aren’t afraid to get their hands dirty. While no professional experience is required, a "can-do" attitude and a genuine interest in DIY, woodworking, or gardening are essential.

Expect to assist with various physical tasks, from shifting soil and rocks, planting in our large garden to holding the "other end of the timber" during interior renovations. We value punctuality and a tidy workspace and bedroom. Most importantly, we appreciate guests who are social, curious, and enjoy sharing a good meal and conversation at the end of a productive day on the tools.

Activities & Shift

We are looking for a motivated helper (or couple) to join us in our latest adventure: transforming our new house and garden. You’ll be working primarily with Arnold, a professional cabinet maker and expert landscaper. If you have an interest in high-end woodworking, luxury kitchen builds, or garden design, this is a unique opportunity to learn hands-on skills from a pro.

The Role:
Arnold is a skilled cabinet maker and landscaper who needs an extra pair of hands. You will assist with:
- Hard and soft landscaping in a large garden.
- Interior DIY and woodworking projects.
- General maintenance as we settle into our new home.

Rules

- We provide main meals, but if you’re a snacker, please provide your own treats. We ask that the kitchen is cleaned immediately after personal use.
- Please keep your bedroom and shared living areas tidy. We ask that you strip your bed and vacuum your room on your departure day.
- Tools and workshop machinery are only to be used under Arnold’s direct supervision. High-quality PPE (which we provide) must be worn when requested.
- No outside guests or overnight visitors are allowed without prior arrangement.
- Bikes: You’re welcome to use the bikes. Please just ensure they are back in the garage after use and are always locked when you are out with them.
- Communication: If you’re planning to stay out late or miss a dinner, just send us a quick text so we don't worry or cook too much food!
- Please be punctual and ready to start work at the time we have arranged with you.
