Program Details

La Forêt du Dragon is a remote retreat land in the Aveyron, France. You will be spending a few weeks as a calm, caring companion to Alexia, a bright and creative 17-year-old.
Your days will include walking together with the goats (2–6 km), light homeschooling using Khan Academy, drawing and making art together, simple shared chores like cooking and washing dishes, and helping prepare bee hives for 2027.
This is not a formal job. It is about showing up consistently, gently and with warmth. The right person loves nature, enjoys young people and is comfortable with a slow, grounded daily rhythm far from city life.
You must have your own car or arrange your own transport. We are 20km from the nearest town with no public transport.

Activities & Shift

A typical day looks like this:
Start the morning with Alexia — take the goats out for a walk together (2–6 km depending on the day). Back at the land, sit down for 1–3 hours of homeschooling using Khan Academy, followed by drawing or making art together.
Afternoons include simple shared chores — cooking a basic meal and washing up together. Some days you’ll work on preparing the bee hives for the 2027 season.
Shifts are around 3–5 hours per day. The rest of the time is yours to enjoy the land and nature.
Good to know:
∙ Work is mostly outdoors
∙ Patience and consistency matter more than any specific skill
∙ No beekeeping experience needed — just curiosity and willingness to learn
∙ You’ll be working alongside Alexia, not managing her

Rules

We share a fully equipped kitchen — gas cooker, fridge, and everything you need to cook simple meals. We cook together when it makes sense.
House rules:
∙ No alcohol on the property
∙ No smoking
∙ No parties
∙ No guests without prior permission
Important regarding Alexia:
Consistency and reliability are essential. If you commit to a daily rhythm with her, we ask you to honour it. Unpredictability is hard for her. If something changes, please communicate early and calmly.
This is a retreat land — the energy here is calm and intentional. We ask you to respect that in how you live and move through the space.
