Program Details
Our desert camp in Wadi Rum offers a unique volunteer experience in the heart of the Jordanian desert. Volunteers become part of a small team helping to maintain the camp, support daily operations, and assist with guest services. In return, they experience Bedouin lifestyle, desert nature, and cultural exchange with local staff and travelers from around the world. The program is simple, friendly, and focused on teamwork and respect.
Activities & Shift
Volunteers help with daily tasks such as cleaning tents and common areas, preparing spaces for guests, light maintenance work, assisting in kitchen tasks, and welcoming visitors. Work is usually 4–5 hours per day, 5 days a week. Tasks may vary depending on camp needs and season. The rest of the time is free to explore the desert, relax, or join camp activities like sunset trips or stargazing.
Rules
We expect all volunteers to respect the desert environment, local culture, and camp rules. Smoking is allowed only in designated areas. Alcohol and drugs are strictly not allowed. Volunteers should be punctual, responsible, and willing to work as part of a team. Respectful behavior toward staff, guests, and other volunteers is essential. Quiet hours should be respected to maintain a peaceful desert atmosphere. Basic cleanliness and cooperation are required at all times.
