I really enjoyed the routine provided by this placement and also the chance to relax after lots of travel. Hours were respected and it was easy to talk to Salvador about the work. Salvador always cooks the best meals and I was very well fed for my entire time at the winery

Overall, my volunteering experience at the winery was positive. I deepened my wine knowledge by working through all main production stages, from harvest to bottling, along with practical tasks like cleaning cabanas. Salvador shared his passion and made me feel at home, despite occasional misalignment on tasks and treatment. I also connected well with his son Pedro. A downside is the remote location, which can feel isolating in your free time.

Just finished my time at Salvador's the winery. I had a great time learning from Salvador about the production of wine. As I arrived I was welcomed by Salvador, the owner, he showed me around and welcomed me to this house where I stayed throughout my time. We shared meals and worked together. We started the day at 7am, ate breakfast and began working on the various tasks around the winery: harvesting grapes, taking care of wine in fermantation, processing the fields and taking care of different facilities of the winery. Highly recommended experience!

It was a great experience and was able to be a part of the process of wine making. The hours of work were longer than advertised on Worldpackers so make sure to confirm with the host the days and hours of work. Overall a good first volunteer experience!

I had a great experience at the winery. The work schedule was always respected and the schedule is tight, which in my opinion is great because after completing your schedule the volunteer is free to do whatever they want. Volunteers stay in a separate cabin, very comfortable, with private rooms and a private bathroom. The winery is near a village that has simple shops and a market in the central park on weekends, where it is possible to meet people, make friends and share. The activities are diverse, related to the field and, of course, some exclusive to wine!

I spent 3 months working at the winery; they were quite monotonous and normal, the food was very good. We had a few misunderstandings here and there, but nothing major. Besides wine, I also learned sheep handling and I had the pleasure of taking care of lambs that were born in the final part of my volunteering cycle at the winery.

My first volunteering experience, a beautiful one, and memories.
Salvador and Pedro welcomed me and made me feel at home! 🥰
Salvador is a person with a lot of culture and a passion for wine and tasty food.
I'm taking away the best recipes from San Juan😋

The experience is good if you want to learn about wines; Salvador explains everything. As for the work, there is a lot to do, and the breakfast is at least deficient, mate or tea with bread with butter or just bread, and no fruit either. The cabin where the volunteers stay is very nice and equipped with a water heater, a fridge, and a stove.
Pedro, his son, is very good and empathetic; with him you can have effective communication.

Salvador and his son Pedro warmly welcomed me from the first day, always kind and attentive. Salvador is a cultured person and passionate about his work, and without a doubt you will learn a lot about the winemaking process with him!🍷
For those who enjoy tranquility, silence, and country life, this can be a lovely experience.

👉 I recommend bringing outdoor work clothes and footwear that can get dirty and worn. Additionally, knowing that this is a rustic and simple environment, with basic amenities, ideal for flexible people, able to adapt to country living.

I spent a month at the winery. I've always worked in larger wine estates, so it was interesting to see another way of working without machines and with smaller volumes. Salvador shares his knowledge and his passion with pleasure. I worked about 6 hours a day; the days aren't equally busy, but everything is organized. I was also able to participate in tango classes in various places in San Juan; this city is fabulous, full of life! Salvador also cooks very well. A good experience! Thanks 😊
