I had a wonderful month here. For the first 20 days, I stayed in a very central location in Tokyo, which gave me an amazing opportunity to explore the city and experience the local culture. Having my own private room was a great plus. I did my best to assist with daily simple tasks around the place.
After that, we spent about 10 days in Myoko, where I joined a great team and other volunteers. Together, we handled manageable tasks that were never too heavy. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable experience for me. I hope it was just as pleasant for them! Special thanks to Hime and the host for eve

We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this host! The work (10 a.m.–3 p.m., including a lunch break) was varied and easy, including assembling furniture, making beds, mowing the lawn, and walking the dog. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming. We had a spacious private room with futon beds, three meals a day, and one freshly cooked meal daily. The location is peaceful, with amazing hikes and waterfalls nearby if you have a car. Perfect for getting back into a routine after long-term travel.

I stayed at their house in Chiyoda as a live in nanny and it was amazing. The working hours were perfect for exploring and your days off are respected. The task every day are very clear and you really feel apart of the family. They are super generous and it's also an amazing opportunity to speak Japanese!

The child can be a little difficult and unwilling to engage with you. There was a situation where I couldn't get hold of the host but apart from that it was really great to experience the culture.

The house and room were comfortable, the area was very quiet, and the mountain landscapes were beautiful, perfect if you want to disconnect. The work was fair and manageable, mainly making beds, cleaning the workers’ house, and walking the dog. Working hours and days off were respected. The staff were kind and attentive. However, I would have wished for some more cultural exchange and interaction during my stay. At the beginning, there was also some confusion about meals and cooking responsibilities, so having clearer communication and orientation would have been appreciated.

Memorable experience, especially the moments of fun with the other volunteers! The proposal is to share the house with the team of employees, so it is not familiar. Was cool, an immersive experience in the Japanese work culture. The team is polite and interactions are limited due to the language. The work was fair, most of the time housekeeping or cleaner. Our room as very comfortable. Breakfast and lunch, we do with what is in the kitchen and dinner, someone from the team is responsible, it may even be the volunteers. I recommend if you want to disconnect because there are not much to do.

We stayed in the staff house and shared our daily life with the team.
The tasks are varied. During our stay, we made beds in the guest houses, gardening, prepared the barbecue areas, and helped keep the house we lived in clean/ organized.
There is an adorable dog.
I think could be improved is the communication about meals and what is provided. We prepared our own breakfast and lunch using the ingredients available, while dinner was prepared by one of the staff members.
Overall, we enjoyed both the work and the experience.
Everyone was as friendly as possible.
Thank you.

It was a memorable experience as I made friends with co-volunteers and some of the staff. On the other hand, my expectations were not met, particularly regarding a family-style environment and learning about Japanese culture. In my first few days, I was in survival mode; I didn't know what to eat, so I had to ask someone to take us to the grocery store to buy my own food. There was no orientation for the volunteers. In terms of work, I don't have any problem with it, it's manageable. I'm glad I had a friend with me, and the fellow volunteers were nice and fun to be with.
