The team was incredibly nice and welcoming, the work was really easy and you get used to it really quickly. Work hours are from 11:00 to 14:00 and the work is absolutely doable in this time frame, so you get plenty of free time. The location of the Guesthouse is also amazing! It's pretty central and there are a lot of interesting shops and restaurants nearby. So all in all it was a great experience! I really enjoyed my time at the guest house and can really recommend it!

I really loved the experience! Work takes up 2–3 hours a day, and then you have time for yourself! Location is also crazy good, right in the center!💞🙌

The location is 10/10 - you are in the heart of Kyoto! The work itself is very straightforward (either cleaning or doing beds) and takes between 2-3 hours to finish (depending on how busy it is). They are very flexible with your days off (I asked to have 2 days together so I could travel around). The kitchen is spacious, even though not the best equipped. However, the biggest downside - the place is not really social. The hosts/managers don't introduce you to other volunteers, and you often live in separate rooms. So you are likely to be on your own, unless you befriend other volunteers.

My stay at the guest house was unfortunately very short but so nice! The tasks where easy to understand, very managable and the team is really nice! The gutest house itself is very nice, with a big common aerea to cook, eat, relax and meet new people. The beds where also very comfortable! So if you are looking for a place to stay and explore Kyoto, I would really recommend the guest house to anyone!

I had a great time here in Kyoto. Our dorms were clean and we had access to everything we needed. When the hostel isn't too full, we mostly finished before 14, if it was full we worked the full 3 hours. It was very easy and fun to meet other volunteers and travellers, I formed some really nice bonds! The hosts/staff was also really helpful in regulating hours and days off and helped with the tasks. With some staff you could feel the hierarchy between volunteers and normal staff, but this was limited and posed no problem to the overall stay and experience. I would really recommend this stay!

The hostel is very well located, the common area is spacious, with two burners, although the pans are somewhat worn, I imagine due to the guests' use.
You shared a room with other volunteers, and the hostel could be quite full with other guests, but rarely.
There was space for your luggage.
I don't know if it's the season or why, but I ended up with a few bites.

The work itself was easy and the hours were always respected. We even sometimes finished earlier if our tasks were completed.
We were housed in the same kind of room as the guests, which was appreciated. Nevertheless, the place is not very social for meeting people and speaking Japanese.
