Our Program Description

Our project is a dedicated community center in Dumila, Morogoro Region, focused on bringing digital education and basic computer literacy to local children. In our rural area, access to computers and the internet is extremely limited. We aim to bridge this digital divide by providing primary and secondary school children with the fundamental skills needed for their future education and career opportunities.
What Volunteers Will Do
Volunteers will work closely with local students aged 7 to 15 in a classroom setting. Your main responsibilities include:
Teaching Basic Skills: Introducing kids to typing, using a computer mouse, navigating operating systems, and using basic software (like Microsoft Word, drawing programs, and educational software).
Creative Lesson Planning: Helping design fun, simple, and interactive lessons tailored for complete beginners.
Internet Safety & Awareness: Educating older children on how to search for information and use the internet safely for school learning.
English Practice & Mentorship: Encouraging conversational English and building confidence in a friendly, supportive atmosphere.
Impact & Cultural Exchange
As a volunteer, you will make a direct, tangible impact on young lives—many of these children will touch a keyboard for the very first time in your class! In return, you will experience authentic Swahili hospitality (Karibu), live alongside our warm community in Dumila, enjoy home-cooked Tanzanian meals, practice the Swahili language, and receive full guidance on exploring regional highlights like Mikumi National Park on your days off.
