Program Details

We are looking for a friendly, open-minded, and adaptable volunteer to join Delft Village Stay in a social host role. This is not a formal job, but an opportunity to become part of a small island community and help create a warm, welcoming experience for travelers.

As a social host, you will be the face of the space—interacting with guests, helping them feel comfortable, and supporting communication between guests and our local staff or family when needed. You’ll spend time with travelers, create a relaxed and social atmosphere, and help bridge cultural connections.

Your role is flexible and may vary day to day. This can include helping with simple tasks, supporting guest activities, or occasionally going to local shops for groceries. Sometimes, your role is simply to be present, share stories, and build a sense of community among guests and locals.

We are looking for someone who is positive, easygoing, respectful, and comfortable with a simple and sometimes unpredictable island lifestyle. Communication skills and an interest in local culture are important.

In return, we provide shared or small private accommodation and three meals a day. More than that, you become part of our family and daily island life. This is a unique chance to experience authentic living, connect with people from around the world, and be part of something meaningful.

Activities & Shift

As a social host at Delft Village Stay, your role includes welcoming guests and making them feel at home, supporting the staff and family in daily activities, and acting as a friendly bridge between guests and locals. You will observe guests’ interests and suggest suitable activities or experiences to enhance their stay. You’ll also help maintain a warm and relaxed atmosphere, keep an eye on the overall space, and occasionally assist with small errands like buying groceries from a nearby shop within walking distance. At times, you may also help check and look after the bicycles available for guests.

Rules

e expect volunteers to be respectful and kind toward the local community and guests at all times. Professional and friendly behavior is essential, and any form of misbehavior with guests is not acceptable. Since this is a shared and operational space, alcohol consumption during working or operational hours is restricted. We value a responsible, positive, and respectful attitude that helps maintain a safe and welcoming environment for everyone.
