Excellent! The location is great! There is a huge mall, multible fitness centers, a beach, a supermarket, convinient stores and many many cute cafes around. Takayuki is an absolute sweetheart. He is caring, talkative, hardworking and very inspiring. I personally found the work itself very rewarding. For us it was mostly easy physical labour (like carring wood to a trunk, digging up sweetpotatoes...). We even had a diner party with international friends of his which was one of my favorite memories of the trip. I learned how to make warabimochi and he even showed me how to make pottery!

The volunteering experience was great!
Never done gardening/painting before so it was really fun!
Takayuki was really friendly and interested, and organized 2 dinner parties (sushi and takoyaki) with all the volunteers and some of his friends.
If you want to practice japanese or spanish please ask him! He will gladly talk to you and help you practice. Also if you are a french speaker, push him to speak, he really enjoys it but he's a bit shy to ask 🫣
Tokoname is a cute pottery village, a peaceful place 😄

I had an amazing stay at Takayuki's place. The house is located right in the middle of the village, surrounded by pottery shops, and you stay with other volunteers while helping to take care of the house. Takayuki introduced us to the village and its history, and also welcomed us into his group of friends and colleagues. It was truly wonderful to get a glimpse of his daily life at his workshop and to meet the locals. Highly recommended!

Takayuki is a very kind host and super social. I felt like he was very interested in all of us and appreciates conneting with people from all over the world.
The way that he took care of us was very heartwarming. (Dinnerparty was super fun) I enjoyed the work too and there were so many cute cats all around :)

I spent a wonderful time at Takayuki's place. The village is so pretty and it's so nice to walk around it We had fun during the sushis and Takoyaki nights ; Takayuki even took us to see the sunset on the beach I was supposed to stay less but he accepted my request to stay a bit longer The job is physical (i like that) but the hours are short If you want a relaxing week in an artistic environment, don't hesitate!

I loved my time at the project! Takayuki, the host, made me feel very comfortable and he obviously cares about his volunteers. The work is easy weeding and he encourages to go at your own speed and take breaks when needed. The town, Tokoname, is quite small and there's not much to do but it's very cute to walk around in. But we did have a fun sushi party one night which was one of the best meals i've had in Japan. Note: there is no wifi at the house.

I couldn't have asked for this better first Worldpackers experience! From the very beginning, Takayuki-san made us feel welcome and at home. He is incredibly kind and sociable, and you can tell that he genuinely cares about his volunteers having a great time and enjoying their stay. The work was more than fair and we had many breaks because of the hot temperatures. I always felt respected and the balance between helping out and having time to explore Tokoname was great. Tokoname is absolutely beautiful, with many cute cafes and shops. I am super grateful for this experience!

I had an amazing experience staying here and I couldn't recommend it more! Takayuki was incredibly kind, welcoming and always made sure we felt at home. He spent a lot of time with us and almost every night we cooked Japanese meals together. He also showed us some nice events like fireworks festival or japanese barbecue. He was always happy to help and made this stay very special. The work itself was easy, well organised and never demanding. The house and rooms are really comfortable. I'm so grateful for this experience. Thank you for everything! I would love to comeback someday!

My week in Tokoname with Takayuki, the project and the other volunteers was pure balm for my stressed-out soul after being constantly on travels. The working hours were very fair and around noon we could finish and enjoy the beautiful neighborhood around. So many cute cafés and pottery stores - I had such a good time. Takyuki is very supportive and kind. We had a fantastic BBQ!!! I really recommend this place :)
