Program Details
This is a flexible, self-managed role. You’ll have freedom to organize your time, but we expect consistent, quality output. Your focus is creating strong visual content (photos, reels, videos) and helping shape a real social media presence from zero.
Mangrove Society is a small jungle community in Costa Rica where we build almost everything from scratch: domes, underground houses, sitting areas, fake rocks, lamps, furniture, natural pools, permaculture gardens, and more. We work with local materials, limited tools, and nature‑inspired design, turning simple things into comfortable, beautiful spaces.
We’re now looking for a social media person to help tell this story. Your job is to capture real daily life here—construction, workshops, gardens, jungle vibes, crew moments—and turn it into honest, engaging content. It’s less about perfect influencer shots and more about showing how we live, build, and learn together.
You’ll join activities to understand what’s happening, film and shoot photos, create reels and posts, and help us shape a basic brand and style for Jungle Ingenuity. If you care about design, alternative living, and stepping a bit outside the matrix, this role lets you help build our online presence from the ground up.
Activities & Shift
Volunteers help around 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, usually in the morning or early afternoon, depending on light and project needs.
Typical activities:
*Filming and photographing daily life, builds, and nature around the project
*Creating reels, stories, and posts for Instagram and Facebook
*Writing captions and short texts that match our vibe
*Editing content with tools like CapCut, Canva, or simple mobile apps
*Collecting content ideas by talking to the crew and joining activities
*Helping us define a basic posting rhythm and trying simple ideas with AI tools
Free time is similar to other volunteers: afternoons and weekends to explore beaches, towns, and relax on site.
