Program Details

Volunteers are placed in one of our active projects based on their background, skills, and the practical needs of the team. Each volunteer stays in the same project for the full duration of their experience, working side by side with other volunteers and a young local staff in daily activities.

Work starts on Monday morning with a shared weekly meeting and continues through Friday, usually taking up most of the day.

On weekends, there are no regular activities, although occasionally optional activitiesmay be organized. Many volunteers use this time to rest, explore the surroundings, or travel independently within Cambodia.

Activities & Shift

The daily routine starts around 7:30 a.m., when volunteers are picked up with our transport and taken to the different project sites. Work continues until lunchtime, which is taken either on site or at On My Way center for those working there.

After the lunch break, activities resume and usually continue until around 3:00–3:30 p.m., when volunteers are brought back to the volunteer house, where they can rest or prepare activities for the following days.

Occasionally, additional activities or initiatives may take place outside the regular routine, depending on ongoing projects and local needs.

Rules

Volunteers must always maintain a respectful and professional attitude, especially with children and adolescents, keeping appropriate boundaries and avoiding any physical affection or personal interaction that could be misinterpreted.

They are required to respect assigned roles, schedules, and activities, and avoid any unauthorised initiatives.

With minors, it is not allowed to give gifts, money, food, or personal items, nor to share personal devices or unapproved content.

Photos and videos are only allowed when authorised by staff, respecting the privacy and safety of the children.

These rules are mandatory for the entire duration of the experience and any violation may lead to removal from the project.
