Natalia and John were an absolute delight for my first hostel volunteer experience. I had very minimal Spanish coming in and it was definitely the kind of cultural and language immersion I was looking for. The hosts treat everyone like family and try to always include me in activities. The town itself is very beautiful, as the first stop to Colombia, it was definitely the right introduction to language learning and solo travelling for me. I will definitely go back as soon as I get a chance!

This was my second experience here and absolutely I don't regret spending my last days in Colombia at the hostel. The place is absolutely wonderful, John and Natalia are the best owners, as any Colombian people thy will welcome you at their best and give you whatever you need. The place is wonderful, apparently calm but you have plenty of stuff to do, but more than anything to spend time with the locals and enjoy the peace of the place. Tasks are super easy and enjoyable. I'll just suggest to get some food in Buenaventura cause from junachci to la barra It will be more expensive.

I had an amazing and adventurous time! If you want to connect with nature, see animals and swim in the wild waves of the hostel, this is for you. I was able to attend many tours, explore the area and mostly spent my time with locals and the hostel crew. The view from the Tiki huts is amazing! Just beware that this place is in the jungle so there will be spiders and snakes. Also, your accomondation depends on which rooms and Tikis are booked, but i had no trouble switching rooms a couple of times. The tasks were totally fine, maybe communication could be a tiny bit better. I'll be back!

The experience at the youth hostel was unique in the Pacific region. A great place to unplug, discover the region and meet the locals. The schedules were well observed and the tasks were simple. I strongly recommend it if you're looking for a unique experience!

Volunteering at the hostel was simply perfect! The place is in the middle of nature and the work is very calm, I did cleaning and gardening activities, the schedules are perfect because you can still enjoy the day with everything near. Nata and Jon are very kind and attentive, I thank them a lot for this time we spent together! I will definitely recommend the hostel to everyone, and I hope to be able to return someday ❤️

This place welcomed me with open arms on my first volunteering; regarding the work carried out, they are extremely organized, they respect the stipulated time and make the exchange of tasks a practical and welcoming experience. The treatment was always kind, respectful, close and considerate, which instills a sense of belonging to the place that I carry in my heart to this moment The bar is a spectacular territory and they have a commitment to social, animal and environmental issues that allows you to enjoy and learn from contact with the native community. It is weed-friendly and the best place.
