We are looking for a creative, proactive person with aesthetic sensibility to join the Refugio Aku team in a hybrid role between social media and reception, with a greater focus on content creation and digital communication.
The idea is to bring in someone who can help us convey the essence of the hostel: community, travel, nature, authentic experiences, and human connection.
24 hours of help per week
Content Writer: Write, edit and publish inspiring content.
Photography: Take, edit and provide amazing photos.
Video Making: Create, edit and publish digital videos.
Social Media: Maintain and update social media channels.
3 days off per week
Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

The AKU hostel team is a calm and close-knit group. From applicants we expect proactivity, commitment and good vibes to contribute to the team with a strategic vision for our presence on social media, mainly on Instagram. For now it is the off-season, so there isn’t much guest activity, but the volunteer for this role will have access to all content produced during the season to advance the posts.
Social media and content (main focus):
Content creation for Instagram and other platforms
Recording reels, stories and lifestyle content
Photography and video of the hostel's day-to-day life
Design and planning of content calendars
Support in digital strategy and branding
Coverage of activities, guests and experiences
Basic photo/video editing
Proposing creative ideas and trends
Reception and guest experience:
Support with check-ins and check-outs
Basic guest service
Warm communication and good energy in common spaces
Help with general hostel organization
Collaboration with the operations team when necessary
The week is divided into 24 hours, with 12 hours of on-site work and 12 hours of autonomous work for content creation. The agreement will be based on the number of reels and posts designed and scheduled, according to the length of stay desired by the applicant.
