Program Details

This is a vital section. Being "off-grid and offline" is a dream for the right person and a nightmare for the wrong one, so being explicit here will save you a lot of time.

Here is a structured draft for those two sections:

Official Agreement Program Description
What we expect from you:
We are looking for a kind, respectful, and hardworking individual who truly understands and appreciates what it means to be off-grid and offline. This is a pristine, wild location where silence is the primary soundtrack. You should be someone who is comfortable with a 30-minute hike to the nearest parking spot and who views "spotty cell signal" as an opportunity to reconnect with nature rather than an inconvenience.

As we are a Swiss-Japanese couple who are both artists and longtime teachers of Yoga, Meditation, and Qigong, we maintain a very healthy, peaceful, and natural lifestyle. We expect our volunteers to respect this atmosphere. We are not a "party" house; we are a place of creation, focus, and harmony with the landscape.

What you can expect from us:
In return for your hard work, you will be treated like part of the family. We take nutrition seriously—you will eat incredible, healthy, fresh, and organic food. If you appreciate a mindful lifestyle, you will feel right at home here. We are happy to share our knowledge of the arts and movement (Yoga/Qigong) with those who are genuinely interested.

Note: Before confirming any stay, we require a video call to ensure our chemistry is a good fit and to answer any questions you have about the remote nature of the site.

Activities & Shift

The Daily Rhythm:
Our days generally start with a shared breakfast before we dive into the project. Because this is a dynamic construction project, there isn’t a "repetitive chore list." Your tasks will shift depending on the weather and the current phase of the build.

Current Project Phases:
We are currently working on two main fronts:

The Exterior (The Facade & Roof): We are using the traditional Japanese Yakisugi method (charring mountain pine boards). We have already begun this process, but there is more wood to char and install. This is a hands-on, meditative, and very satisfying process.

The Interior (Fine Woodworking): We are starting to build out the "soul" of the cabin—creating custom cabinets, sliding doors, and internal structures. This is where a volunteer with skilled carpentry or furniture-making experience will really shine.

Shift Structure:

Hours: Generally 5 hours a day, 5 days a week (flexible based on weather).

Variety: You might be charring wood in the morning and helping move materials or assisting with fine joinery in the afternoon.

Environment: Expect physical work in a breathtaking, high-altitude setting. It is rewarding work that leaves you with a tangible sense of accomplishment at the end of every day.
