I really loved volunteering at Captain Jo's outstanding the hostel complex! I felt safe and taken care of. I received everything that was promised, was able to try many delicious Korean food, got a nice and cozy lodging and even had the opportunity to go with Captain Jo on the hostel tours! In return I helped out in his hotel and k-food businesses, which provided great insight into the daily lives and work of Korean people. I learned a lot during this experience. I especially recommend it to those who look for a real authentic Korean experience, that is not sugar-coated.

I can highly recommend the stay in Canarias to everyone. The experience was outstanding, the food was excellent, and the tasks were easy. The whole team is very friendly, and Captain Jo is the best :) He makes sure the volunteers have everything they need. Sometimes you can participate in boat trips for free, and we were even invited to meals. My best Worldpackers experience til now :)
The people are treat you more then a friend and not like a worker so it wos very beautiful :)
Thank you for the nice time :)

My experience did not meet my expectations. The host is inexperienced with international volunteers. Volunteers were treated more like workers than participants in a cultural exchange, with a heavy workload and little free time. Whenever we raised concerns, the response was simply, "If you don't like it, leave," instead of trying to solve the problem. Captain Jo was kind, but the volunteers' concerns were rarely considered. I hope the host improves communication, fairness, and understands that Worldpackers is a volunteer exchange, not a source of cheap labor.

I had already done another volunteer work in Geoje and, because I knew Captain John and had always been treated by him with a lot of kindness, generosity and respect, I chose to apply to volunteer in the Canary Islands and I do not regret it. He is one of the best people I have ever met. Whenever I needed anything, I was listened to and helped. The schedule and the tasks were always defined from day one. I disagree with the first comment: that person brought problems from the start, argued with me on the first day, and tried to turn employees against each other. My experience in the Canary Islands was excellent.
