Program Details
This program is designed to combine creativity, cultural exchange, ethical tourism, and community impact in a meaningful and hands-on way. Volunteers work directly with local roadside artists, clay moulders, and skilled weavers who create carpets, scarves, baskets, and handmade wool art using traditional techniques passed through generations.
Upon arrival, volunteers are introduced to the local creatives and the communities involved in the project. You will learn their stories, understand their craft, and discover how art and handmade products can become a tool for empowerment and sustainable income.
Volunteers participate in different stages of the creative and sales process depending on their interests and skills. Activities may include:
* Sketching and painting designs
* Assisting with clay moulding and finishing
* Helping weavers create wool carpets, scarves, and handmade décor
* Photography and videography
* Creating social media content
* Storytelling and marketing
* Product display and packaging
* Helping connect products to tourists, travelers, and online audiences
The goal is not only to create beautiful products, but also to help local artists gain visibility and improve sales opportunities through modern marketing and global exposure. Volunteers are encouraged to use their creativity and online presence to promote the artwork in authentic and inspiring ways.
A percentage of the proceeds from every sale goes directly toward supporting vulnerable children through school fees assistance, educational materials, meals, mentorship, and support for children’s homes and community programs
