I had an amazing time with volcanoe days, getting to do lots of hiking and meet loads of people within the community and travellers alike. The accommodation was ok and the meals were excellent and I felt welcomed and respected by most of the staff. Tony is great and happy to help and the other guides are passionate and fun. Leon is a nice city but this work keeps you busy enough without being exhausting. Feel free to contact me for any more info. I hope I can come back someday!

I was here 5 weeks and it was the best volenteer I ever had. You are hiking every day up to the vulcanos. It is hot in Leon and it is absolut amazing 🥰
The guids are soo frindly and funny. It was such a good community and i loved everybody there. I think, when i have the possibility I will come back to Leon, back to Vulcano days.

Volunteering here was the highlight of my travels in latam. From day one, I felt like a part of a huge, energetic family. Whether we were prep-ing gear for the hikes or hanging out after work, the energy was always high and positive. The 'work' itself is incredibly rewarding. You get to be outdoors, stay active and party at the same time, plus getting to see those insane views never gets old. There is a free daily shuttle to Las Penitas perfect to relax after work. Also Tony is a super chill boss you can always talk to and he knows how to handle even the toughest situations.

This was one of the coolest jobs I’ve ever done. Days are action packed, preparing, hiking or partying, surrounded by crazy landscapes and views. In your down time, Leon and Las Penitas are both great places to explore. Although basic, it was fun living with the coworkers like one big family and I truly felt welcomed straight away. I unfortunately had a pretty disrespectful encounter with one staff member but after debriefing with management I think it’s been handled and should no longer be an issue. Tony is a really good boss and considers any wishes or worries you may have.

Make no mistake, you hike a lot here and you are constantly busy. But if you embrace it, you will have an incredible time. No two hikes are ever completely the same, you spend so much time outdoors in truly jaw dropping locations and the team that you live with truly becomes a sudo-family after a while. In terms of facilities, it's worth mentioning that there is no fridge and you purchase filtered water for yourself but I see it as a more than fair trade for everything you are given in return. There are even bonus business around Leon that offer discounts too! Unforgettable and unmissable!

I had a wonderful time at the camping for the first 2 weeks. The meals and accommodation were nice, the job was super fun, and i made some great connections with the other volunteers and staff! I felt welcomed from the first day. Unfortunately I decided to leave early along with some other volunteers because of a problem that occurred with one of the staff members and was handled incorrectly. What reflected bad on the company was the owners inappropriate response which made me feel unsafe as a woman in this environment. Really sad it ended this way. Owner do better. Girls be careful.

I had a great time volunteering with the camping! The other guides are great and really easy to get along with. Great opportunity to meet both international travellers and locals, so a great option if you're looking to improve language skills. You're kept very busy with doing hikes almost everyday, but this is perfect and means you're never bored.

This is an awesome place to volunteer. You get plenty of downtime to enjoy León and the team is very nice. The volcanoes are beautiful and the work is fun. You get great meals too. If you are a female please be cautious. Not all, but some of the men are not respectful towards woman to the same standard you may be used to. I had a very uncomfortable encounter with a staff member and it was not the first time with that staff member. It was handled very well when I went to management so I would still recommend the experience, just keep your wits about you. Be extra safe.

Has the best month at the camping! Got to walk many of the Nicaragua volcanoes including San Cristobal, used the free beach shuttle for countless beach trips and had many nights socialising and partying. Met loads of amazing people from all around the world. The guides and staff at the camping are all super bubbly and fun and the bosses are really chill. If you love the outdoors and socialising then this is heaven! Thanks the camping
