Program Details

TANF Ghana is a grassroots nonprofit organization dedicated to supporting vulnerable children and underserved communities through education, healthcare outreach, youth empowerment, and community development initiatives in Ghana.

As a volunteer, you will become part of our local community and support meaningful activities such as educational assistance, after-school programs, community outreach, creative workshops, healthcare campaigns, social support activities, and youth engagement projects. Depending on your skills and interests, volunteers may also assist with photography, social media, documentation, event support, or cultural activities.

Volunteers usually help around 5 hours per day, 5 days a week, while having free time to explore the local culture, nearby attractions, and community life. We aim to create a welcoming, respectful, and family-like environment where cultural exchange is encouraged.

In return, volunteers can expect a meaningful experience, cultural immersion, local guidance, shared accommodation, meals, and the opportunity to positively impact the lives of children and local communities while learning more about Ghanaian culture and daily life.

We value kindness, flexibility, respect, teamwork, and a genuine willingness to contribute positively to community initiatives.

Rules

We ask all volunteers to be respectful, responsible, open-minded, and supportive of our local culture and community values. Volunteers should maintain a positive attitude, communicate honestly, and treat children, staff, and fellow volunteers with kindness and respect.

Alcohol abuse, illegal drugs, discrimination, inappropriate behavior toward children, or disrespect toward the local community will not be tolerated.

Please help keep shared spaces clean and respect agreed schedules and quiet hours. We also encourage volunteers to dress modestly during community activities and outreach programs.

Most importantly, we hope every volunteer joins us with a genuine spirit of cultural exchange, teamwork, and willingness to make a positive impact.
