Great experience! I recommend arriving and waiting a few days to understand how things work and to get to know the Vietnamese staff; they are kind Hanoi: free time, super relaxed. I was at the bar and there weren't many customers (they'd let you choose between washing dishes or working the bar). Cat Ba: the job was dance and drink free beer, or just stay at the new bar (they'd let you do other tasks if you asked). The sea was right nearby. The room a little hot when the AC off. Volunteering at the inn is one of the best experiences you can have during your stay in Hanoi. The owners and staff are incredibly friendly and treated me like family, so I felt right at home. The work schedules are super flexible, the food is delicious, and the beds are incredibly comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place.

A nice, chill hostel with wonderful guests and beautiful nature just around the corner! What's needed to be said is that you won't be able to really bond with the staff, since they don't speak english or basic english. Thats why sometimes there were misunderstandings or general lacking clarity. Nevertheless I felt very welcomed and everyone was always very kind, which in the end counts the most:)

I spent 2 weeks at the inn and I had a really nice time! The working time is from 8.30 till 9.30, taking orders and serving breakfast to the guests till the leave for the loop, and then from 5ish pm (sometimes a bit earlier) till 8pm, welcoming guests who are back from the loop, giving them t-shirt a and then taking orders and serving dinner. So you basically have all day to do what you want! The location is a bit far from the town but the staff is really friendly and sometimes the drove me downtown! You will have a very relaxing time. Also the food there is delicious!

Great time with really nice people! Big thanks to the team who were very welcoming. The place is nice and cosy, the work was really easy, a lot of communication with guests but not everyone from the staff speaks English. I had a lot of time to just chill and have some rest because the place is a bit far from the city (not really walkable distance). The food was great too!

Thank you very much for this amazing time! Everyone was really kind to me. The only important issue was at the beginning. When I came to the hostel it seemed like nobody knew I was even coming. And the tasks weren’t really clear to me, but I know that to the new volunteer you have a list with instructions, so I hope there won’t be any confusion anymore :) Thanks!

Had an amazing time at the inn. The whole staff there was welcoming me with open arms and made me feel like home immediately. Chores in the morning include helping at breakfast time, writing advertising comments, as well as helping prepare guests for the tour. In the afternoon I would help welcome back the returning groups from the loop and encourage them to write a review of their experience, ask for feedback and help in the house where needed. Modern and safe place, the lovely chefs will treat you with amazing food. I will miss everyone! Thank you so much Alex and Linh + all staff members :)

We had a great time there for two weeks. We had to do some paintings and we loved it ! But the only things we didn't expected was that the hostel is pretty empty. So no socialization. But the rest was really cool, the staff made us feel welcomed.
