Program Details
We're looking for someone who would enjoy becoming part of our daily life rather than simply completing a list of chores. We work during the day, so you'll often have time to yourself, but we'd love someone who is happy to help keep the home running smoothly.
The help is light and shared throughout the week. This includes occasionally walking our two friendly dogs, preparing a few simple dinners each week, and helping keep common areas clean and tidy. We value volunteers who notice when something needs doing and are happy to help without always waiting to be asked.
We really enjoy the cultural exchange side of Worldpackers. We'd love to share stories about our countries, cultures and everyday life, and we'd be happy to learn about yours too. If you're interested, we'll also do our best to include you in family outings, trips to the beach, BBQs, meals out or other activities whenever possible. There is never any pressure to join—it's entirely up to you.
We provide a private room, fast Wi-Fi, access to our kitchen and a bicycle to explore the local area. We want this to be a positive experience where both host and volunteer feel comfortable, respected and enjoy their time together.
Activities & Shift
Our schedule is flexible and we'll agree the week's plan together. Typical tasks include:
🐶 Walking our two friendly dogs (sometimes with us, occasionally independently once you're comfortable).
🍝 Cooking a few simple dinners each week.
🧹 Hoovering and mopping the shared living areas once or twice a week (around 1 hour total).
🍽️ Helping keep common areas tidy (washing up, wiping surfaces and everyday tidying).
😊 Taking initiative and helping when you notice something needs doing.
We don't expect perfection—just someone who enjoys being part of the household and helping keep it running smoothly. The rest of your time is yours to relax, explore the area or enjoy your own plans.
Rules
Please respect our dogs' routine, especially Reethie's strict feeding schedule due to his diabetes.
Respect everyone's privacy and personal space.
Clean up after yourself and help keep shared areas tidy.
If you're unsure about anything, just ask—we're always happy to help.
Honest communication is important to us. We'd rather discuss any concerns early so we can find a solution together.
Please treat our home, belongings and pets with the same care and respect as you would your own.
