The hostel was an amazing opportunity to discover Rio! I learned a lot of new things about managing a hostel as well as new recipes. The team was wonderful, I was the only one who didn't speak Spanish or Portuguese fluently at the time, but it really pushed me to practice. The schedule is well-respected and reasonable, leaving plenty of time to explore Rio and the surrounding area. The hostel itself is absolutely fantastic, and between the staff and regular guests, you quickly become part of one big family. I highly recommend!

I had an amazing 6 weeks volunteering at this hostel ! Working at reception was a great way to meet people from all over the world, while still having plenty of time to explore Rio on my days off. Huge thanks to Thibaut and the whole team for this wonderful experience!

Aquarela was (and is to this day) my home, the work is relaxed, shifts are flexible, the facilities are excellent and the work team is wonderful, only good things I have to say about this place and its people, always in my heart, lovely people! ❤️🩹
Rio is a beautiful city and the hostel's location is excellent, a 10-minute walk from Leme Beach and with many things to do nearby.

a hostel in the hostel's favela, very safe and quiet, a mix between the city and the urban. The hostel is amazing and I felt at home from the moment I arrived. The volunteers are family and the people who work at the hostel, both the cleaning girls and the person in charge, Binho, are super loving and respectful. Without a doubt I would come back and stay much longer. I will miss it a lot, unfortunately I have to return to Argentina 🥺
