The experience

We have a 20-acre property near Vancouver. We have 6 horses, a mini donkey, and 4 Highland cows. There is Mattie, our wolfhound and 2 cats, Sushi and Captain Jack. We grow vegetables and fruits, and have a hazelnut orchard. We have some big equipment including a tractor, skid steer and an excavator, which we can train you on. We start at 7AM with lots of hands on work. Horses will greet you for breakfast. Volunteers help with daily farm tasks🚜.


What you offer

25 hours of help per week

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens


What you get

2 days off per week

Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Program Details

We assign tasks for the day such as cutting lawns, planting seeds, feeding horses, etc.


Activities & Shift

You would go between gardens/grove work and caring for animals. There is some help in the house and barns on occasion and taking turns to cook.

We expect courteous behavior towards our tenants.
Caring for the animals is top priority to be sure everyone is doing well.
Putting tools back is important.
Keeping the property neat and tidy and the living area clean is important.
