As a social worker or environmentalist, you will take charge of our “Greening Uganda Schools
25 hours of help per week
Social Work: Help with volunteer work in local projects and communities.
Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.
Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens
Amount: US$ 20 Per day
Fee pays for: Benefits for travelers and Materials for volunteer activities
Description: The volunteer will contribute this small to help us in providing good meals and decent accommodation. This will not be part of the donation to the project.
2 days off per week
Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.
Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.
Team Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other people.
Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.
Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

You will also have the opportunity to conduct radio talk shows to amplify our campaign and educate the public about the importance of reforestation.
Additionally, you will work alongside our dedicated team to develop proposals for funding and organize crowdfunding initiatives aimed at planting 100,000 trees. As a volunteer for the "Greening Uganda Schools Project" with PLATFORM for the NEEDY, you will engage in several impactful activities aimed at promoting environmental sustainability. Your key responsibilities will include:
1.Tree Planting: Participate in hands-on tree planting activities at schools and community sites, contributing to our goal of planting one million trees across Uganda.
2.Awareness Campaigns: Organize and facilitate awareness sessions on climate change and environmental conservation, educating students and community members about the importance of trees.
3.Student Engagement: Interact with students to gather their perspectives on environmental issues, fostering a sense of ownership and responsibility towards their surroundings. Start environmental and science clubs in schools.
4.Media Outreach: Conduct radio talk shows and other media initiatives to amplify the campaign, raising public awareness about reforestation efforts.
5.Project Coordination: Collaborate with team members to develop project proposals for funding and assist in organizing crowdfunding efforts to support the planting of 100,000 trees.
Through these activities, you will play a vital role in creating a greener future for Uganda while gaining valuable experience in environmental advocacy. You will be working for three days a week and from 9:00am- 4:00pm going to the schools and communities planting trees. The evenings you experience the tour of Fort Portal Tourism City and tourism attractions.
As an international volunteer we request to stick to the rules of the organization. No smoking and drinking in schools and communities but you can do it at home-stay. Not allowed to engage in sexual relationship with children and students . Its against the Ugandan laws. But you are free to form friendships with adults and mature people. Not allowed to move at night and moving alone without our guide
