Private Room: You will have a bed in a private room. In other words, a room just for you.

We welcome volunteers from around the world to join us at Friends of Jesus Ministry Orphanage in Uganda. We believe in cultural exchange, kindness, and creating a positive impact together.
Our orphanage cares for 75 children aged 4–14, many of whom were rescued from difficult situations on the streets. As a volunteer, you become part of our family and have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of these children.
Volunteers can spend time teaching, playing, mentoring, or sharing their culture and experiences. Since the children attend school during the day, you are free to choose activities or subjects you would like to teach. You are also welcome to visit their school and participate in their daily lives. All of the children speak English well, making communication easy and rewarding.
We provide volunteers with free accommodation in a comfortable private room near the orphanage, along with three meals per day. In return, we ask only for your time, compassion, and willingness to connect with the children.
Beyond volunteering, Jinja offers many exciting activities, including white-water rafting, bungee jumping, kayaking, zip-lining, boat cruises, cycling, trekking, and visits to the beautiful Nile River. We are happy to help volunteers organize these experiences and explore the beauty of Uganda.
