Program Details

This vacancy is for those who enjoy discovering fascinating places, exploring natural paradises, and interacting with locals, tourists, and the local community. The job involves street selling Alfajores da Mica at beaches, waterfalls, cultural events and regional parties in Ubatuba.

The main activity will be selling the alfajores on the beaches. To do that, you just need to understand the product, be communicative, friendly, and enjoy talking to people. Often, if you complete sales before the scheduled time, you’ll already be free to enjoy everything Ubatuba has to offer.

I produce artisanal alfajores from Patagonia (@alfajordamica), made from a family recipe. I was born in Patagonia, but grew up in Ubatuba, and I have been selling alfajores for many years. This means that a large part of the work is already in place, as I have fixed clients and recurring orders.

There is an entire community that lives and works on the beaches and already consumes the alfajores, especially people connected to surfing. Likewise, there is also a loyal audience at cultural events and in the city’s nightlife, who loves to sweeten the night or take a treat home after a night out. The sales opportunities are many and quite varied!

More than a job, this is an opportunity to get to know the local culture, make new friends, and experience Ubatuba in an authentic way.

Activities & Shift

As I mentioned, the main activity will be direct selling of the alfajores to the public. For that, I provide all the necessary materials: ready-made and packaged alfajores, a transport cooler, a QR Code for payment and supporting materials for sales.

Additionally, part of the collaboration involves organizing and cleaning the spaces used daily, including the kitchen and common areas of the house. The tasks may include washing, drying and storing dishes, cleaning the floor, and assisting in the general maintenance of the spaces.

When necessary, another activity will be delivering orders to clients who are already part of my portfolio.

If you have interest or skills in photography, video, or social media, we can also develop content to promote the brand, recording the sales, the beaches, the events, and the experience in Ubatuba.

The schedules tend to be flexible and vary according to beach conditions, events and sales demand. For example, beach sales occur during the day, while some cultural events may occur in the evening. The organization and cleaning tasks will be coordinated together, usually before or after the outdoor activities.

Rules

Rules of convivencia are essential to maintain a pleasant and respectful environment for everyone. When a person arrives, I give an introduction of the space, explain how the house and shared areas work, and also send a guide with guidelines on the use of the spaces and the daily routine of the place.

There is also a minimum sales target for the beach activity. If it is not reached on a given day, we will talk to understand the situation and find the best solution. Sometimes one beach is quieter while another is busier, for example. In these cases, we can adjust the strategy, visit more than one beach on the same day or compensate sales at another time.

The most important thing is to maintain good communication and willingness to collaborate. Unforeseen events happen, and we always find a way to make things work for everyone.

Another important rule is to understand and respect the proposal of this exchange. I offer lodging in a camping area in the backyard of the house. The structure includes a tent, a single bed, and bed linens.

The meals are the responsibility of each volunteer, who may use the kitchen to prepare their meals.

During external activities, when it is necessary to travel to other beaches for work, the cost of bus fare will be covered by the project.

My goal is that everything is very clear from the start, so that expectations are aligned and the experience is positive for everyone. I am available to clarify any questions before your application or arrival.
