The experience

We are a small organic wine and fruit farm in the South of Germany, run by a middle aged couple (Monika and Sven) since 2008. Our products are spirits from our fruit that are produced in our distillery (we were awarded "best distillery of the state"), wine and honey from our bees. Also we organise wine tastings and group events. Lately we added a little craft beer brewery and we open our beer garden in the months June and July.

Program Details

Help with harvesting and other farm related work. It is a farm, but it is not physically hard work, so suitable also for women. But you have to be a bit fit, bring some decent shoes (in spring and fall waterproof boots) and older clothes that are allowed to get dirty. There is a pile of used cloths now you can use, too.

Activities & Shift

We usually start at 10:00 and work until 4pm with a ~1h lunch break (5 hours a day, 5 days a week or 6 hours a day 4 day a week, depending on our needs).

Rules

Weekends off for volunteers also means weekends off for the host (very often we are at markets during weekends to sell our products). So communication on weekends might be slow and pick up and drop off at the station during weekends needs to be discussed with us in advance.
