Our volunteer program offers a peaceful village homestay experience in the beautiful Laxapana region of Sri Lanka, surrounded by waterfalls, mountains, and tea plantations. Volunteers become part of our family and experience authentic local life while contributing to our homestay and cultural exchange activities.
We focus on creating a friendly, safe, and meaningful environment where travelers can connect with nature, learn about Sri Lankan culture, and enjoy simple village living. This is not just volunteering – it is a cultural exchange experience where both hosts and volunteers learn from each other.
Volunteers help around 3 hours per day with a mix of homestay support and community-based learning activities. The main focus of this program is to support local children by helping them improve their English language skills through simple conversations, basic vocabulary practice, storytelling, and friendly interaction.
This creates a natural and enjoyable learning environment where children can practice English with native or fluent speakers in a relaxed way.
Along with teaching support, volunteers may also assist with light homestay tasks such as preparing guest areas, helping with daily routines, and maintaining a clean and welcoming environment.
We offer flexible shifts depending on daily needs, ensuring volunteers have enough free time to relax, explore waterfalls, and enjoy village life around Laxapana.
