Program Details

In the green areas of the center you will be a key part of caring for and beautifying the natural environment that inspires peace to those who visit us. During your shifts, you will perform gardening tasks, pruning, watering and exterior maintenance that require good physical condition and, above all, a respectful and loving attitude toward nature, creating a harmonious and welcoming environment for everyone.

We offer accommodation in a shared room, three meals a day and meditation classes. As part of our Kadampa Buddhist community, you will have the opportunity to live with and learn from practitioners with many years of experience. In addition, you will be able to participate in all the classes, chanted prayers and meditation retreats held at the center, immersing yourself in a deep learning and personal growth experience.

For your stay, you should bring comfortable clothing for outdoor work, suitable footwear, a sleeping bag or top sheet, a towel and personal care items. We provide you with a bottom sheet and pillowcase.

Living at the center is not only a volunteering opportunity: it is an experience of connection with nature, meditation and a community committed to inner peace and harmony.

Activities & Shift

We work five days a week and rest two days. The gardening shift is six hours daily, distributed throughout the day to take advantage of the best light and weather hours.

The standard schedule is:

09:00 – 13:00: Main gardening, pruning and maintenance tasks, with a 15-minute break.

14:00 – 15:00: Lunch hour.

15:00 – 17:00: Continuation of tasks, afternoon watering or maintenance of tools.

This schedule can be adjusted and/or additional activities added according to the needs of the green areas, the weather, and the retreats that are taking place. What always remains are the 6 hours of daily volunteering, although the distribution may vary and rest days may be adjusted according to the center’s planning.

Flexibility and willingness to adapt to changes are required, since caring for nature depends on weather factors and exterior maintenance is a key point for the center's operation during activities and events that take place.
