Welcome to Babyshine Free Education & Child Care Project in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania. We provide free education, childcare, and creative learning opportunities for children from underserved communities. Volunteers help with teaching, childcare, games, arts, sports, and community activities. Description:
Volunteers contribute 15 euro per day. The contribution covers Food, Wifi, Maintenance and Project contribution.

You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Program Details
Babyshine Free Education & Child Care runs a structured volunteer program where international and local volunteers support children’s learning, care, and development.
Volunteers are selected based on motivation and basic skills, then receive orientation and guidance on arrival. They work 4–6 hours per day, 5 days a week, assisting in teaching, childcare, creative activities, and school support. In exchange, volunteers may receive accommodation, meals, free wifi, free laundry and a meaningful cultural exchange experience while contributing to education and community impact.
Activities & Shift
Our Volunteer Activities:
Volunteers will support children’s learning, care, and daily development through:
1. Teaching & Learning Support
Helping children with basic reading, writing, and counting
Assisting teachers during lessons
Organizing simple educational games and learning activities
2. Child Care Support
Supervising children during playtime
Helping with meals and hygiene routines (handwashing, cleanliness)
Ensuring a safe and friendly environment for kids
3. Creative & Recreational Activities
Art and craft sessions (drawing, coloring, crafts)
Singing, dancing, and storytelling activities
Sports and outdoor games
4. Classroom & Center Support
Preparing learning materials (flashcards, worksheets)
Organizing classrooms and keeping spaces clean
Supporting daily routines and schedules
5. Community Engagement (optional)
Helping with awareness activities for parents
Participating in outreach or donation events
To keep energy balanced and avoid burnout, volunteers work as follows:
Morning (09:00 am – 2:00 pm)
Morning learning sessions
Classroom teaching support
Educational games and structured activities4–6 hours per day depending on volunteer availability
5 days per week (Monday–Friday)
Weekends off or optional community events
Rules
1. Child Safety First – No child should be left alone. Any form of abuse is strictly forbidden.
2.Respect for Everyone – All children, staff, and volunteers must respect each other. No insults or discrimination.
3.Punctuality – Everyone must arrive on time and report absences in advance.
4.Cleanliness – Maintain good hygiene in all areas at all times.
5.Follow Daily Schedule – All activities must follow the planned program.
6. Volunteer Conduct – Be disciplined, follow rules, and do not take photos of children without permission.
7. Health & Safety – Sick children should stay home and all accidents must be reported immediately.
8. Good Communication – Report any issues to the project coordinator quickly.
9. Proper Use of Materials – All resources must be used carefully and only for project purposes.
10. Responsibility – Everyone is accountable for their actions and behavior.
