Program Details
Our volunteer program is focused on eco-living, sustainability, and community education in Morogoro, Tanzania. Volunteers work alongside local community members to support environmental awareness, sustainable agriculture, waste management initiatives, and educational activities for children and youth.
Volunteers typically contribute 4–5 hours per day, 5 days per week. Tasks may include assisting with workshops, supporting community learning programs, helping with gardening and eco-projects, creating educational materials, and participating in cultural exchange activities.
Upon arrival, volunteers receive an orientation about the project, local culture, safety guidelines, and their responsibilities. We encourage volunteers to share their own skills, ideas, and experiences to enrich the program.
In exchange for their contribution, volunteers receive accommodation, local support, and an authentic opportunity to experience Tanzanian culture while making a positive impact in the community. Our goal is to create a meaningful learning experience for both volunteers and local residents through collaboration, respect, and sustainable development.
Activities & Shift
Volunteers will participate in a variety of activities that support eco-living, sustainability, and community education. Daily tasks may vary depending on current projects and community needs.
Activities include assisting with environmental education sessions, supporting children and youth learning programs, organizing educational games and workshops, helping with tree planting and gardening projects, promoting waste reduction and recycling practices, and participating in community clean-up activities.
Volunteers may also help create educational materials, support social media and documentation of project activities, assist with community outreach, and contribute ideas for sustainability initiatives. Cultural exchange is an important part of the experience, and volunteers are encouraged to share their skills, knowledge, and experiences with local community members.
A typical day starts with a short team meeting to discuss tasks and objectives, followed by 4–5 hours of volunteer work. Afternoons and weekends are usually free for cultural activities, exploring the local area, personal projects, or relaxation.
Rules
We ask all volunteers to be respectful, responsible, and committed to the project goals. Volunteers should arrive on time for scheduled activities, communicate openly with the host team, and maintain a positive attitude throughout their stay.
Respect for local culture, traditions, and community members is essential. Volunteers are expected to dress appropriately during community activities and interact respectfully with children, youth, and local residents.
We encourage volunteers to be proactive, flexible, and willing to learn. While previous experience is appreciated, enthusiasm, teamwork, and a genuine interest in sustainability and community development are the most important qualities.
Please inform the host in advance if you have any special needs, dietary requirements, or travel changes. Our goal is to create a safe, respectful, and meaningful experience for everyone involved.
