Program Details
Hello! We are a French-Brazilian family living in a comfortable house about 30 minutes from Paris with our two young children and our friendly dog.
We’re looking for volunteers who genuinely enjoy family life and cultural exchange. We don’t expect perfection or professional experience in every task. What matters most to us is having a positive attitude, being versatile, responsible and willing to contribute to our daily routine.
Your help may include cleaning, cooking, childcare, helping with our dog and, depending on your skills, photography, video or content creation. Every period is different, so the tasks may vary according to the family’s needs.
Most of the time we host two volunteers, which allows us to share and rotate responsibilities. We appreciate people who enjoy working as a team, communicate openly and naturally help create a pleasant home for everyone.
We also value efficiency, initiative and consideration for others. Living together means respecting shared spaces, shared resources and contributing to the home environment, not only during working hours but also through the small everyday gestures that make living together enjoyable.
In return, you’ll become part of our family, experience everyday life in France, enjoy home-cooked meals, share our culture and create meaningful memories with us.
We hope you’re looking for more than just accommodation. We hope you’re looking for a home not a hotel.
If you’re looking for a place where everyone helps, respects each other and truly feels part of the family, we’d love to welcome you.
Activities & Shift
Activities & Schedule
Your daily tasks may vary depending on the family’s needs, but they generally include:
• Keeping the house genuinely clean and pleasant to live in (kitchen, bathrooms, floors, dusting, vacuuming and shared spaces).
• Preparing simple everyday meals or following recipes. Professional cooking experience is not required.
• Helping with our children during playtime and daily routines.
• Taking our toddler to and from his nanny using public transportation, our family car (if you have a driver’s license), or another suitable means of transport when needed. A driver’s license is not required, but it is a big advantage.
• Helping with our friendly dog when needed.
• Grocery shopping or running small errands occasionally.
• If you have experience or interest in photography, videography or content creation, please mention it in your application. These skills are not required but may become part of your volunteer experience depending on your profile and our current projects.
Most of the time we host two volunteers, so responsibilities are shared and rotated throughout the week. Rather than assigning one person to only one type of task, we rotate responsibilities so everyone contributes to the household in a balanced way. We value versatility because it allows us to organize the work fairly and adapt to the family’s needs.
We appreciate volunteers who work efficiently while maintaining quality, manage their time well and can complete everyday tasks without constant supervision.
We are looking for someone who enjoys contributing to a family home, has a strong sense of community and understands that teamwork makes everyday life easier for everyone.
If you enjoy taking initiative, noticing what needs to be done and becoming part of a family’s daily life rather than simply staying in their home, you’ll probably feel very happy here.
Rules
House Rules & Expectations
We believe the best volunteer experiences happen when everyone respects each other and works together. We don’t expect perfection, but we do appreciate kindness, responsibility and common sense.
To make living together enjoyable for everyone, we kindly ask our volunteers to respect the following:
• Respect our home, furniture and belongings as if they were your own.
• Please ask before using personal belongings that are not yours.
• Help us avoid unnecessary waste of food, water, electricity and household supplies.
• Personal hygiene products are not included and should be purchased by each volunteer.
• We appreciate modest clothing in shared areas of the house, as this is a family home shared by a couple and young children.
• Shared meals are part of family life. We appreciate the volunteers helping clear the table and leaving the kitchen tidy after eating, even outside working hours. These are small acts of community rather than volunteer tasks.
• Please be considerate when sharing food with others. Living together means thinking about everyone, not only ourselves.
• During working hours, we ask everyone to stay focused on their tasks. There will always be plenty of time to relax and socialize afterward.
• If something is damaged or broken, please let us know immediately. We understand accidents happen, but honesty and communication are very important to us. As also we appreciate everyone taking care of everything as it’s yours.
• If you are unsure about how to use something, please ask first. We’d much rather explain than risk something being damaged.
• Please keep your own room and personal belongings reasonably clean and organized.
• Please leave the bathroom clean after use so it is ready for the next person.
• After cooking, please leave the kitchen clean and ready for the next person to use.
• Please respect quiet hours, especially because we have young children.
Above all, we hope you feel at home here, while also helping us create a respectful, collaborative and welcoming environment for everyone.
When in doubt, ask. We’d always rather answer a question than fix a misunderstanding later.
