Would you like to learn, hands-on, about gardens, medicinal plants, and permaculture?

We offer a volunteering opportunity at a permaculture eco-farm with more than 12 years of experience, dedicated to regenerating the Atlantic Forest and to life in a multicultural community.

Day-to-day activities include cultivating and caring for gardens and medicinal plants, harvesting, and utilizing organic foods from our agroforestry systems.


What you offer

32 hours of help per week

Animal Care: Help look after and take care of animals.

Building & Repairing: Help with a wide range of repairs or building.

Farming: Plant crops, sow seeds and help in outside tasks.

Gardening: Help grow plants and cultivate gardens


What you get

3 days off per week

Shared Dorm: You will have a bed in a shared room, which means you will share the same room with other travelers.

Breakfast: You are entitled to a free breakfast, every day of your stay.

Lunch: You are entitled to a free lunch, every day of your stay.

Dinner: You are entitled to a free dinner, every day of your stay.

Free Laundry: You can use our laundry room freely.

Free Tours: We’ll take you on tours and rides around town. For free!

Free Hiking Tours: We’ll take you on excursions and hikes around town. For free!

Language lessons: Take free language classes at our place.

Permaculture Course: Take part in our Permaculture course for free.

Use our equipped kitchen: Feel free to use our kitchen and make your own delicious food.

Requirements

Beginner Portuguese or Beginner English

Over 18 years old

Only hosts solo volunteers (doesn’t accept couples or partners)

Activities & Shift

✔ Planting, pruning, harvests, irrigation and maintenance of agroforests and gardens
✔ Support in permaculture practices
✔ Contribution to soil regeneration and biodiversity
✔ Participation in workshops, presentations, language classes, social and sports activities, community living and regional outings

🕓 Dedication: 32 hours per week (4 work days and 3 days off)
