Program Details

We are a family-run guesthouse in the beautiful town of Theth, with over 15 years of hospitality experience. It is fully managed by our family, with occasional help from kind and friendly people. Surrounded by majestic mountains and travellers, our guesthouse offers a warm, rustic atmosphere. We are ideally located between Theth’s two most visited attractions: the Blue Eye and the waterfall.

Our guesthouse is located a few kilometers from Theth, in a small neighbourhood called Nderlysaj. This community was largely abandoned after the fall of the government, but in recent years, families like ours have started to return and bring new life to the area. Here, you’ll find a unique blend of rural life and growing tourism. This part of Albania is known for its stunning mountain landscapes and a variety of hiking trails. In your free time, you can explore nearby rivers for a refreshing swim or go hiking, including sections of the famous Peaks of the Balkans trail.

We currently have two buildings and thirteen rooms, and we are in the process of building more. We also have a restaurant where we often host guests who want to enjoy our home-cooked food. During the summer, our family of six lives on-site, and we all take part in daily tasks and in creating a welcoming atmosphere. However, during the busy summer season, we would really appreciate some extra help.

Activities & Shift

Volunteers will help with daily guesthouse operations. Tasks include welcoming and checking in guests, cleaning rooms and common areas, changing bed linen, doing laundry, and assisting in the restaurant when needed.

Shifts are organized in a flexible daily schedule, usually around 5–6 hours per day(excluding the two days off), with time for breaks. Tasks may vary depending on the season and guesthouse needs, but teamwork and a positive attitude are always important.

Rules

We expect all volunteers to be respectful, responsible, and open to teamwork. Please respect guests, staff, and the peaceful mountain environment.

Keep shared spaces clean and organized. Be punctual for your shifts and communicate in advance if any issues arise.

Alcohol abuse, disrespectful behavior, or lack of responsibility is not tolerated.

We value a friendly, positive atmosphere where everyone helps each other and enjoys the experience
