What you offer

4 hours of help per day

Description: Volunteers contribute $20 USD per week towards the food needs of the residents who are staying with the volunteers as well as donations to the project.

What We Expect From You
Active Participation: Assist in planting, nurturing, and monitoring our goal of 4,000 sugar palm (aren) trees as part of our village reforestation and social impact initiative.
Hands-on Engagement: Get your hands dirty! You will walk alongside local farmers to learn and assist in the traditional process of tapping palm sap (nira) and boiling it into organic palm sugar.

Weekly Hours: 20–25 hours per week (approx. 4–5 hours per day).
Working Days: 5 days a week.
Days Off: 2 consecutive days off per week (giving you plenty of time to explore the surrounding nature, relax at Tepi Hutan Cafe, or connect with family using our Starlink Wi-Fi).
Daily Schedule: Activities usually take place in the morning (around 07:00 AM – 11:30 AM) to enjoy the fresh forest air and match the traditional farming routines of the villagers. Afternoons and evenings are generally your free time!

1. Agroforestry & Tree Planting (Approx. 40% of the time)
Preparing soil and organic fertilizer for the sugar palm (aren) nursery.
Planting sugar palm seedlings in designated forest areas to reach our 4,000-tree goal.
Monitoring plant growth, clearing weeds around young seedlings, and learning sustainable agroforestry techniques from local farmers.
