Program Details

You will join our local team in the mountain town of Abetifi in eastern Ghana, supporting football, school sports and youth development activities within the community.

Volunteers assist local coaches and teachers with training sessions, drills, games, PE activities and confidence-building exercises. The aim is to encourage participation, teamwork, discipline and enjoyment rather than replace local coaches or lead the program independently.

You will receive an orientation, guidance from the local team and ongoing support throughout your stay. Activities may vary depending on school schedules, weather, local events and the needs of the young people involved. During school holidays or examinations, volunteers may support alternative sports, youth or community activities.

Activities & Shift

Volunteers usually help Monday to Friday for around 25 hours per week, with two days off.

Activities may include:

Assisting with football academy training sessions
Supporting school PE and sports lessons
Helping organize drills, games and small matches
Encouraging teamwork, confidence and fair play
Preparing equipment and helping keep activity areas organized
Supporting other suitable youth or community activities when needed

Schedules may vary depending on school timetables, weather, local events and the needs of the coaches.
