Program Details

You will help Atlas create authentic, useful content that shows volunteer life, community programs and everyday experiences in Abetifi & seasonally Cape Three Points

This is a practical content-creation role for someone who can work independently, spot good stories and turn them into engaging social media posts, short videos, photographs and written content.

You will live alongside international volunteers and have opportunities to visit different projects, attend weekly activities and capture the wider experience of volunteering in Ghana. Atlas will provide guidance, content priorities and feedback, but you should be comfortable planning and producing your own work.

Content may include volunteer interviews, project updates, accommodation and arrival information, staff introductions, destination features, impact stories and day-in-the-life content.

Activities & Shift

Approximately 20 hours per week, with two agreed days off.

Your schedule will be flexible because useful content may need to be captured during project hours, weekly activities or occasional Sunday arrivals.

Activities may include:

Planning a simple content calendar
Filming and editing reels and short videos
Taking photographs of volunteer life and project activities
Interviewing volunteers and staff
Writing captions, stories and short articles
Creating reusable Canva templates
Producing accommodation, destination and arrival content
Turning approved impact updates into clear social posts
Organizing drafts, photographs and videos for review
Reviewing content performance and suggesting future ideas

Atlas will agree priorities and expected deliverables with you at the beginning of the placement. Content should be submitted for approval before publication unless direct posting access has been specifically agreed.

Rules

Please communicate regularly, meet agreed deadlines and ask for guidance whenever you are unsure about a piece of content.

You must:

Respect the privacy and dignity of volunteers, staff and community members
Ask permission before photographing, filming or interviewing anyone
Follow all child-safeguarding and consent requirements
Never publish identifiable images of children without the required approval
Avoid presenting poverty, children or communities in a sensational or disrespectful way
Use accurate information and avoid making unsupported impact claims
Submit content for Atlas approval before posting
Keep raw and edited files organized
Hand over all agreed content before departure
Respect Atlas branding, tone and confidentiality
Bring a suitable smartphone, camera or other equipment needed for your work
Be comfortable receiving feedback and making reasonable revisions

Any access to Atlas social media accounts will be limited and granted only when appropriate.
