Program Details

You will help Atlas build a high-quality visual library that documents volunteer life, community programs and the experience of staying in Abetifi.

This role is designed for an experienced photographer or videographer who can plan shoots, work independently and tell stories respectfully. Unlike our regular social media role, the focus is on producing polished photography and video assets that Atlas can use across its website, program listings, reports and future campaigns.

You may photograph and film volunteer activities, accommodation, staff, local scenery, arrivals, weekly activities and approved community projects. Atlas will provide a content brief and priority shot list at the beginning of your stay.

You will be expected to edit, organize and hand over all agreed raw and finished files before departure.

Activities & Shift

You will contribute approximately 20 hours per week, with two agreed days off.

Your schedule will remain flexible because photography and filming may take place during project visits, volunteer activities, interviews or occasional Sunday arrivals.

Activities may include:

Planning shoots around an agreed content brief
Photographing volunteer programs and daily life
Capturing accommodation, facilities and the local area
Recording volunteer and staff interviews
Producing short program and destination videos
Documenting project progress and before-and-after stories
Selecting and editing the strongest photographs
Editing short-form and longer video content
Organizing raw and edited files into clearly labelled folders
Providing suitable captions or notes to explain the content
Maintaining consent records where required

The exact deliverables will be agreed before or shortly after arrival and will depend on your portfolio, equipment and the current content priorities.

Rules

You must work respectfully and follow all photography, privacy and safeguarding guidance.

You must:

Ask permission before photographing, filming or interviewing anyone
Follow all child-safeguarding and consent requirements
Never photograph identifiable children without the required approval
Avoid exploitative, staged or sensational portrayals of communities
Respect anyone who does not wish to appear in content

Use accurate captions and avoid unsupported claims
Submit content to Atlas for approval before public use
Keep all raw and edited files organized and backed up
Hand over all agreed files before departure
Not sell, license or reuse Atlas project content without written permission
Bring and take responsibility for your own camera, storage and editing equipment
Be open to feedback and reasonable editing revisions

Any access to restricted areas or sensitive activities must be approved in advance.
