Welcome to Windy Waters! We are a modern watersports center located directly on the beautiful Veluwemeer in the Netherlands. Our mission is to create unforgettable experiences for our guests while building a positive, supportive and professional team culture.
As a volunteer, you become part of our team rather than just helping with daily tasks. We believe that everyone has unique talents and ideas. From day one, you'll receive guidance, responsibility and the opportunity to grow both personally and professionally.
Your role
Your daily activities may include welcoming guests, preparing and maintaining watersports equipment, assisting with rentals, helping instructors during busy periods, keeping the beach and facilities clean and organized, and supporting the overall guest experience. Depending on your skills and interests, you may also help with social media, photography, events or other projects.
No previous watersports experience is required. A positive attitude, reliability, willingness to learn and enjoying teamwork are much more important to us.
Working together
We work as one team. Every morning we start with a short briefing to discuss the day's activities, weather conditions and priorities. Throughout the day, experienced team members are available to support you whenever needed.
We encourage volunteers to take initiative and contribute ideas. If you see opportunities to improve something, we'd love to hear your suggestions.

A Typical Day at Windy Waters
09:00 – Morning briefing
We start the day together with a short team meeting. We discuss the weather and wind forecast, expected guests, group activities, safety points and the tasks for the day. Everyone knows what needs to be done before we open.
09:15 – Preparing the beach and equipment
Together we prepare the watersports center for the day. This includes setting up the beach, checking and organizing windsurf boards, SUPs, kayaks and catamarans, preparing wetsuits and life jackets, opening the rental desk and making sure everything looks clean and welcoming.
10:00 – Guests arrive
You welcome guests with a smile, help them check in, explain how rentals work, assist with choosing the right equipment and answer questions. During busy moments you help instructors by preparing equipment or getting participants ready for their activity.
Throughout the day
Every day is different. Depending on the weather and bookings you may:
- Prepare and return rental equipment.
- Help launch and recover boards, kayaks and catamarans.
- Clean and dry wetsuits and life jackets.
- Keep the beach, shop and storage areas tidy.
- Refill drinks or organize the terrace.
- Assist during group events or school activities.
- Take photos or videos for social media.
- Help guests whenever they need assistance.
There are also quieter moments during the day, giving you time to organize equipment, learn about watersports or enjoy a coffee with the team.
