Program Details

Casa Igara is an independent guesthouse in Belém, Pará, created by an architect and artisan who is passionate about the Amazon, local culture, and meaningful hospitality. The project was born from the desire to combine architecture, art, and hospitality in a peaceful environment where guests and volunteers can share experiences with respect and openness.
The house was carefully designed, celebrating Amazonian architecture, regional craftsmanship, and sustainable practices. We are looking for responsible, friendly, and proactive volunteers who are excited to be part of our daily routine, learn new skills, and exchange knowledge throughout their stay.
We hope everyone who comes to Casa Igara feels at home, discovers the richness of Amazonian culture, and enjoys an authentic, welcoming, and memorable experience.

Activities & Shift

If you enjoy cooking, organizing spaces and making people feel at home, I'd love to welcome you to Casa Igara. You'll help prepare a traditional Amazonian breakfast, keep the house clean and organized, and create a warm and welcoming experience for our guests.

Rules

Casa Igara is an independent project managed exclusively by me. As a volunteer, you will be working directly with me, so I value people who are respectful, communicative, proactive, and open to dialogue and constructive feedback.

We respect people of all backgrounds, religions, sexual orientations, gender identities, and cultures. If you are not comfortable sharing spaces with people who are different from you, this volunteer opportunity is probably not the right fit.

• Respect the house and the people around you.

• Keep shared spaces clean and organized.
Everyone contributes to keeping the house comfortable and welcoming.

• Be responsible with water and energy.
The Amazon is our inspiration, and conscious use of resources is part of our values.

• No smoking inside the house.

• Communicate openly.
If you have questions, ideas or need anything, feel free to talk. Good communication makes the experience better for everyone.

• Be ready to participate in the daily routine of the house.
The volunteer role includes helping prepare the Amazonian breakfast, organizing spaces and supporting the hospitality routine.
