Program Details
As a Yoga Teacher at Samaya Wellness Lodge, you'll play an important role in creating the meaningful experiences our guests remember long after they leave.
Each morning, you'll welcome guests at the dock on Flores Island before taking a scenic 5-minute boat ride back with them across the lake to our beautiful 2.5-acre jungle sanctuary. Surrounded by nature, you'll guide an uplifting all-levels yoga class on our lakeside beach deck beneath the palm trees, helping guests begin their day feeling energized and connected.
After class, you'll continue holding space by introducing guests to everything Samaya has to offer. Whether it's recommending our homemade breakfast, explaining how to order lunch, suggesting a walk along our magical jungle monkey trails, or simply inviting guests to unwind in the hammock nest, you'll help them feel at home and fully embrace the peaceful rhythm of the sanctuary.
More than teaching yoga, you'll be creating epic moments, building genuine connections, and sharing the spirit of Samaya.
On days when there are no bookings for the morning class, your schedule may shift to the afternoon. Instead, you'll guide our Sunset Wellness Journey, leading a sunset yoga class followed by a traditional temazcal sauna and cold plunge experience. Flexibility is appreciated, as each day follows the rhythm of our guests and the sanctuary.
Activities & Shift
Lead a daily all-levels morning yoga class in our lakeside shala. On selected afternoons, you'll host our Sunset Wellness Journey, beginning with a sunset yoga class on the beach deck and followed by a traditional temazcal sauna and cold plunge experience.
More than teaching yoga, you'll create a welcoming atmosphere, guide guests through the experience, and help foster meaningful moments of connection, relaxation, and wellbeing.

Who We're Looking For
Samaya is a peaceful wellness sanctuary, not a party hostel. We're looking for someone who genuinely enjoys nature, mindful living, and creating meaningful experiences for others.
Before applying, please keep the following in mind:
* We value a calm environment. Quiet hours begin at 10:00 PM, and we ask everyone to respect the peaceful atmosphere of the sanctuary.
* Access to Samaya is by boat only. To reduce unnecessary crossings, we appreciate volunteers being flexible with their schedule and, whenever possible, traveling between Flores and Samaya together with our guests.
* If you plan to spend an evening in Flores, we kindly ask that you return before 10:00 PM whenever possible. Exceptions can always be arranged in advance.
* Your accommodation and shared kitchen are located about a 10-minute walk uphill through our jungle trails. You'll regularly be walking the paths with a flashlight, fully immersed in the sights and sounds of the jungle. A reasonable level of fitness, an adventurous spirit, and comfort living close to nature are essential.
* Life at Samaya is peaceful and immersed in nature. You'll wake to howler monkeys, share the sanctuary with tropical wildlife, and occasionally enjoy quiet moments on your own. If you love slow living and feel at home in nature, you'll thrive here.
* Flexibility is highly appreciated. Life at Samaya follows the rhythm of nature and our guests, and we're looking for someone who enjoys being part of a small team and helping create a seamless experience for everyone.
If you're looking for a meaningful exchange where yoga, nature, community, and adventure come together, we'd love to hear from you.
