The experience

The incredible 150-year-old house we bought recently had been abandoned for the last 15 years. We want to bring some life back to this beautiful 2,000-square-meter plot of land. We have a lot of work for carpenters and woodworkers, electricians, plumbers, and people with experience in mortaring, plastering, tiling, and concrete work in general. Garden enthusiasts or even professional tree healers are also welcome!

Program Details

After living in cities and apartments, we realized that the most natural way to find and nurture community is in the village. We love people, we love Georgia, we love organized chaos. We love long conversations by the fire, one of us loves twerking while the other was a drummer in a punk band. We love our morning coffees, we love having a forest 10 minutes’ walk from the house, and we love the mountain panorama you can see from our garden.

We love people who are willing to help, contribute, give ideas, and be ready to bring other people’s ideas to life.

We live together, work together, cook together, and eat together. We value community spirit and other people’s inner worlds; we appreciate both being surrounded by people and having time to recharge.

Until the dormitory is set up we have plenty of space in the garden to pitch a tent (we can provide a tent as well).

We have an outdoor kitchen, an outdoor shower and the coziest camping toilet you’ve seen.

As we’ve just started, we’re still figuring things out. We provide breakfast, dinner, and a light lunch, and as a small group we cook all meals for each other and eat together.

Activities & Shift

We have a lot of work inside the house, outside the house, and in the garden:

- Woodwork ranges from DIY decorations to furniture and more complex projects - our Pinterest boards and folders of saved images and videos are full of references and inspiration. Right now we also have a professional carpenter on site, so if you want to learn more about woodworking, it’s a really good opportunity!
- Some rooms need a bit of attention, while others need more work such as mortaring, plastering, removing old wallpaper etc.
- The garden has been untended for at least 15 years, and some trees really need someone who knows how to help them regain their strength and give this garden the care it deserves.

For the last couple of months we have been working on the house by ourselves with the help of our dear friends, volunteers and sometimes professional local workers. We are happy to have people around who are willing to help, contribute, give ideas, and be ready to bring other people’s ideas to life. If you have experience in something we mentioned above – amazing; if you don’t but you are willing to learn – also amazing! We will figure it out together.
