Rustic, remote eco adventure
The experience
We have a basic cabin (bed, propane cooktop, outdoor gravity fed shower, outhouse) right on the beach on the north east side of Guanaja. Water access only, and we don't have a boat, so you'll want to bring in groceries for your time. Looking for 1-2 people who would like to spend a few weeks there, helping to paint sealant on wood, water plants, rake, do little projects on your own schedule. In your free time, you can go kayaking, fishing

Program Details
You'd be on your own, so just structure your day however you'd like. There is a ferry over to Guanaja from Roatan on Fri and Sat, and one from Guanaja to Roatan on Sat and Sun. From.the cay where the ferry is, a water taxi to the property is about 20 min (around $35). Transportation there and back is your own expense. There is some solar power, and rain water collection.
Activities & Shift
There is a walkway that needs sealant applied, a caretaker cabin that needs painting, plants to water, leaves to rake, branches to cut back. If you're handy, there are drywall seams that need to be pasted. Set your own pace- just put in about 20 hrs a week, and send some pics of your progress.
Rules
No smoking in or around cabin, to prevent any fire risk. It is very remote, so you need to be content with your own company. We will include a free night stay at our hostel in Roatan before and after your stay in Guanaja
