The Experience

Come volunteer with us and be part of our ecosystem. Today we have the mission to spread to the world what we produce. Our hostel is a business machine; we have a martial arts academy, fitness gyms, automotive aesthetics, among other businesses that need qualified people in the area to perform media capture and editing services. A minimum level of experience is required, and a qualified mobile device that can perform these tasks.

Positives: Friendly host and his family. They were warm and welcoming. Negatives: Jacaré is far from main tourist areas. No bar discounts, bikes, surfboards, or laundry as advertised. Host praised my skills on my application, but claimed for no reason that he didn't trust me with electrical work, in public, and did not put my language skills to use. Most painting was finished so I was asked to paint an unhygienic parking garage toilet outside the hostel (when there was still electrical work to do). When I refused they were quick to evict me via WhatsApp with a 17:00 deadline.

Trip replied

Hello, Atakan! We’re very sorry that your experience was like that.

Your role was not limited to the electrical part; it involved rotating tasks between painting and repair, which you did not perform satisfactorily. We would really have liked to see more responsiveness and willingness on your part regarding the tasks assigned.

A home away from home 🏠

Victor and his family were excellent hosts, they helped every time I needed help and also the treatment is super warm.

I recommend the experience to immerse yourself in the local culture away from tourist spots to live a daily life and with access to sports.

My experience at Hostel Host was very pleasant. All the people I met there welcomed me warmly, treated me very well, everyone is very friendly and attentive, I could take Muay Thai classes with very friendly instructors, which made the experience even more enjoyable. The hostel is still under construction, so it needs a lot of work and hands-on effort, there are some things that may be missing and others that can be improved, I hope that with time and the support of more volunteers the project will go ahead. It was my first experience as a volunteer and I think I did very well.

My experience at the hostel was incredible. The hostel is a project still under construction with enormous potential, and it was a great pleasure to be part of that. Victor, the host, and his team welcomed us and were very attentive to us. Many ideas, a lot of good energy and great learnings. I highly recommend the experience.

Well, I highly recommend the experience.
Flexible schedules, the activities are quite relaxed and in line with what suits you best; the host is always willing to help you and with an open mind to receive feedback.
It was a very enlightening and enjoyable exchange, the deep conversations with Victor pull you out of reality for a few moments.
The trip is still under construction, so they need a lot of help with structuring; with that, the hostel has everything to be amazing.
The area is very calm, there are markets nearby, and the hostel crew is also super friendly.
Rating: 100.
