Program Details
We will be having a second child early December and as we have no family close by it would be incredibly helpful for someone who would be happy to stay with us before and after the birth and help us with Teogan (our 4 year old), the cooking and cleaning. We'll need someone who is flexible, adaptable, creative and sympathetic to the reality of a family during the postpartum stage of life 🙃.
We will provide the meals on your working days and ask that you take care of your other meals on your days off (apart from breakfast as people have very different expectations for breakfast so we find it simpler if you provide your own breakfast but we're happy to provide you with tea and or coffee). You will be lodged in an Airbnb, which is in the same building as our home and the backpackers we run - it's very comfortable and has an independent kitchen living section, double bedroom and ensuite shower and toilet.
We will not always be able to share the meals with you as "schedule" can be hectic and we may be too exhausted and you may also want a quiet break 😂 so someone who is happy to be quite independent also is helpful.
The surrounding area is really beautiful there are mountains and lakes and usually this period is fairly quiet so not super busy with tourists. There will still be access to many of the hikes although it may snow a little especially higher up in the mountains. There are shops, bars and restaurants in town (a 15-20minute walk from our building) so it's easy to keep yourself resourced. There is also a mediatech with a Library and small cinema. Plus thermal baths just down the road (2 min walk). We also have a yoga room you can use with mats and blocks, it's very peaceful (Samantha's a yoga teacher).
Activities & Shift
Cooking:
Happy to cook healthful meals with meat, legumes and vegetables from scratch with enough confidence to think of the meals they can make themselves.
Childcare:
Comfortable taking care of an energetic, sociable, loving 4 year old. He will be at school during the week so it won't be full time care but the odd hour or two here and there just really to play with him and keep him entertained.
Shopping:
Sometimes I may have to provide you with a shopping list if we run low on things (obviously we cover the cost of the food we share and that is for us).
Cleaning:
Sometimes I may ask you to clean our flat and help with the washing machine loads if things get too much. It'll be important to keep the kitchen clean when you help cook food and of course your own space in the airbnb.
We basically need someone who will be flexible and happy to help us in all these areas.
Rules
To be as flexible, caring, considerate and positive as possible.
Also not to smoke in the building or when looking after Teo.
We will ask for between 4-5 hours of work 5 days a week. Sometimes we may ask you to split the hours 2 over lunch time and 2 in the morning or afternoon but we'll keep in close communication so you know what you're doing at least the day before. We can also schedule your days off a week in advance so you can organise yourself accordingly.
